The teachers are supposed to be very good and it seems to be a good mix of structure/discipline and freedom to learn. Not like the typical rote learning style. I'm not a huge fan of flashcards either but they're only for a few min each day so it's not a huge part of it.

I assume the kid will learn canto if you speak it at home and we do live in HK so I'm sure they'll pick it up. The Chinese program at Rightmind is supposed to be very good, so writing and reading won't be an issue. It used to be the feeder for ISF until ISF started its own kg.

It is a bit commercial but then which kg isn't. There's no perfect school, just need to find one that you're happy with.

Yeah small world, woodland and rightmind are all commercial.
Those more local ones like creative, cannan and precious blood are considered less commercial kg.

This is the very first time I ever heard that Small World is described as "commercial". My son graduated there and there has never been any hint of such feeling in me and my wife at all.

Oh sorry, my mistake.. actually i dun have detail review on Small World. My apologies to give false information here and thanks for pointing out this.
Great to hear that Small World is not commercial at all and sounds like you and your family have good comments on it. Let me do some research on it.

Small World is the best kindergarten I met. No bad comment about SWCK. The principal, admin staff, teachers and even cleaners are very nice and caring. You really can feel kind of love in this school. But one thing is this is English base and you shouldn't expect there's good Chinese learning.

Have u been to he campus of Rightmind ? Sorry in my opinion it does not look like a kinder. Cannot see colorful works from kids, no messy corners. It looks like an office.

My son is studying in SWCK, He enjoys his school life so much. School teaches the kids share love and show care. It is very important for our little one to learn, right?
They all can speak English fluently, but, Chinese is a joke. If you have an expectation in Chinese, you need to find a Chinese learning center.

我喺k2時有安排中文補習班俾仔。
係，大部分升上ICA （80%）,但唔係保證直升。佢地比較鍾意收持外國護照的學生。

I went to the Sham Wan campus once. It seems to me like a clinic or a laboratory more, so it gave me an impression that it's using some kinda scientific or high-tech pedagogy.

我以為有90%以上，仲要多數收外國護照既學生，咁有點擔心

可能今年龍年，學位比較緊張啫。好多學生有其他國際offer,便會放棄ICA. 所以你也不用緊張。

我仔仔唔上ICA了，我們沒有international passport. 我們仍然在waitlist.
