For HY, the mentorship program will assign one teacher for one student, last for 6 years. On average, each teacher will take care of 12 students from different forms. How useful of this program? Just depends on how active of the students and teachers. Some teachers guide the girls to prepare the DSE from form one, as well as empower them to achieve their aims in all aspects.
Also, each form one girl will have a buddy. All new students can share different things with them, quite sweet.
Financially, HY is a poor secondary school. In fact, she seldom asks the parents for donation.
Further, all her resources spend on employing the good teachers but not the hardware. Most of the male teachers are graduates of DBS, some from Cambridge. Female teachers are graduates St. Mary, HY old girls, DGS and different oversea universities.
Normally, no one will use the toilets near the basketball court. It just be used as parents' toilets on the interviewing date.
All students toilets are clean but old.
The principal plans to improve the hardware of the school in the coming years.
If you want to find a school has good academic record with good facilities, it better to choose DGS or Co-edn but not HY.
