ISF foundation year stage 1B assessment

Anyone done this already? What Is it about? Also, they asked parents must be there for admission briefing. Is this just a presentation and is there any questions raised to parents? Also, does both parents need to attend? Thanks

Also, what are the kids being tested?

They don't know only one parent or two parents go. I don't know what they test inside, my child not tell me

I know. We went yesterday. The whole arrangement put me off. Asking parents to come half an hour earlier and have they all line up outside the school (luckily yesterday was not particularly hot or cold). Then nearly 300 people sitting at your designated group area just like 小學生。Also so far as I know everyone moves from stage 1A to 1B. Then why wasting so much of the time of parents and kids to come another time?
My kid did tell me what went on inside. There were 3 rooms, 2 English 1 mandarin , with kids split into smaller groups of 3, doing some counting, drawing, etc. no toys no free play.

I had similar impression. A bit pointless to hold two stages if the numbers of people are attending are similar. But what had shocked me more is having heard after taking in preschool, corporate nominees and siblings, the spaces are being offered to non of above is only 15%, making us feel the effort had been put in is even more pointless.

The dean of admission said there will be 200 places. About 80%+ of the 100 pre school kids got offer, leaving 110-120  places. Although some places will be taken by debenture holders and siblings not attending preschool, against 500 applicants, there are still reasonable chances for good performers , much easier than CIS and GSIS and comparable to schools like CDNIS.

The admission director said in the briefing that it will be Dec 23
