傳統幼稚園有國際小學收嗎?

我個女黎梗會升K3, 讀梗一條龍上到小/中學的幼稚園。但近日幫細仔計劃未來教育方向時，才萌生了走國際學校的方向。

們因為大女已經响傳統幼稚園讀左幾年，英文水平一般，能聽得懂，講都可以但生字唔多。佢性格較靜亦唔係主動同陌生人講野嗰種。

原本諗住有不錯的小學backup所以之前冇留意其他小學。但最近睇番時才知道很多國際小學都已經過了報名日期。  

請問讀梗傳統幼稚園轉去國際小學會收嗎？會唔會好難適應?

聽講interview都好學術，真的嗎?

似乎不足以是主要原因選國際學校，你也可安排些英語為主的興趣班

我仔仔係本地幼稚園升國際小一，我係一早計畫考國際小一，所以自小就培養仔仔英文聽講能力。低年級考IS一般只需英文聽講對答，越高年級越難，要考卷，所以如果你決定要讓小朋友考IS，越早越好。

964000 意思係，如果你只是想小朋友英文好而轉IS ，其實有其他方法。如果不是認同國際學校的教學模式，只因為英文程度，入IS 可能不能配合你教育期望

Ha you read my mind. I think I have misunderstand the host's meaning. Nevertheless, year 1 interview is not too demanding I knew at least few kids from local kinder who got into CAIS, ESF, ISF respectively. One of the kid only studied in 村校 and just learned English from talking to maid, and watching TV. The other kid studied in York, also got an English speaking helper. As far as the kid is not too shy to speak simple English, that helps. Some school maybe more demanding eg GSIS, ESF in English level. Others may not.

我女宜家讀緊CAIS, k1，k2係讀York, K3就已经入左CAIS, 記得去in時，只需要聽得明，对答得到，唔怕醜就已经ok, 當然，pass左亦不代表一定有offer, 宜家IS嘅学位都好緊張。如你小朋友只能説一d英文生字，那可以考虑即時操好佢d英文，你宜家情况，只能考插班，AP插Y1, IB Y2。

其實你想小朋友接受哪一套教育制度，理念呢？或者小朋友適合哪一套教學模式？

mspaint, 我唸大家不太明白你想大女轉IS的原因，所以較難幫你 (因為間間國際學校要求和制度都不同，所以需要清楚了解你的需要才能更全面幫助你)

請問你想女兒轉IS，有多少乘數是因為：
~ 小兒子合適IS所以希望兩姊弟同校/同制？
~ 幫兒子找學校時才發覺自己認同IS理念？
~ 女兒讀了LS後才發覺英文水平一般，希望兩個孩子英文水平都能夠提昇？
~ 希望女兒入IS後可以更外向主動？
~ 希望孩子將來在外國讀書/發展？

以上都是unfound speculations, 只希望更仔細明白你家庭的需要。

多謝大家的comment. 唔好意思之前寫得唔係好清楚。

其實我地最近才計劃移民，雖然未知會唔會成功，但長遠係希望仔女能接受外國教育。所以希望可以早點讓孩子適應外國的教育模式。

因為之前冇諗過，最近才開始做research, 驚覺已經過左一啲學校的申請日期，所以覺得有啲 徬徨。加上未知IS assessment 的要求，所以唔知怎樣安排。。。

could you tell which country you are targeting, this may help the search by applying the school with same curriculum.

We are checking out UK or Australia. Depends on which country's immigration policy favours our situation.

又不急需要趕上英語水平去轉IS,小朋友適應能力很強,不消半個學期便很快融入當地。

may try AISHK for Australia and Anfield, Kellett, Nord Anglia for UK. These would provide you with a better understanding and better transition to the school system with the respective country.

Do you have any idea about how they do assessments? Says majority of them will assess Eng/Math in written? and will they interview parents?

i assume you are applying for year 1 or year 2. Not much focus on academic aspect, mainly on understanding english, story time with questions on the story, drawing and observation on interactions with other kids. keep in mind that Year 2 is a bit hard to get a spot for most students finish in K2 and go into year1.

Year 1-3 application/interview, etc are super easy. Just testing students ability to understand and communicate in english.
The point is, you missed the year 1 application (e.g. for ESF), and applying to year 2 is difficult because not many people leave after year 1, and even if there are, there are already lots of people on waiting list.
I suggest that you apply anyway and see how it goes.
If you do not apply, it will never happen.

如果去考IS pre-grade 1 or grade 1都不用做卷，只是面試傾計， 通常都係畫畫，砌嘢，講故事問問題，和傾偈。但如插二，三年班， 必定會考卷，考英文，考數學， 再傾偈，同埋寫野(english).
唯獨是ESF不會考卷， 齋傾偈對答.
當然grou in時英文流利比較高機會, 但係去到做卷可能決定的是成績加英文程度.
