The Hong Kong average is a calculated figure based on the average scores of schools and the number of students. As such, it is only based on all schools who have disclosed their results and currently excludes LPCUWC, KCIS, Austral IS, HK Academy and Carmel. The number of students at CIS and FIS are not disclosed and represent approximate figures

加拿大國際學校出兩IB狀元　港大中大爭取錄

【on.cc東網專訊】 國際文憑課程(IB)昨日(5日)放榜，香港多間開辦IB課程的直資學校、私校及國際學校陸續公布成績。香港加拿大國際學校公布，有兩名學生考獲滿分45分，成為IB狀元，二人已獲多間香港及海外著名大學取錄；另有5名學生考獲43或44分，全校考生平均分為36.5分，成績驕人。

兩名IB狀元分別是Margaret Ho及Alina Bharwani，二人分別在6科考獲7分，並在一篇四千字長文(Extended Essay)，及一篇近二千字有關知識論(Theory of Knowledge)的文章獲A級，令總分達45分。Margert Ho已獲香港大學及中文大學醫學院取錄，美國麻省理工學院及約翰霍普金斯大學亦向她招手。Alina Bharwani亦已獲港大及中大醫學院等取錄。

國際文憑組織昨公布，今年的IB平均得分為30.07，滿分45分，當中有146名學生考獲滿分榮登狀元之列，較去年的160人減少14人。

We are pleased to announce the outstanding results achieved by this years graduating class on the IB Diploma examinations. Our year on year results reflect the quality of learning and teaching at VSA.  Again this year in the class of 2016, we have a top scorer who obtained a perfect score of 45 points!  More than half this year’s cohort scored a 36 or higher, reflecting the continuous improvement evident in recent year's results.  VSA’s average score this year is again significantly above the world average of 30.07.

        All 34 of its IB graduates have either received unconditional offers from leading universities or met the requirements of the conditional offers of their first choice.

        University Offers
        Our IBDP students have received offers from prestigious local and overseas universities, including Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL and LSE in the UK; UCLA, UMich and Johns Hopkins in the US.
       
        IB Results

•                 The average score of our 2016 cohort is 40.3 (out of a full score of 45).
•                 19 (55.9%) of our 34 students got a score of 42 or above, compared to the world’s 3.3%.
•                
  5 students got a score of 44: Chan Lok Yan, Hui Sheena Xin Na, Lee Vanessa Wing Kai, Lo Hay Yuen Michael and Wong Wai Pan.  5 got a score of 43: Cheung Hiu Ching, Ho Shu Wai, Lam Ting Hei Jeffrey, Tang Pui Man and Wu Crystal Ji Ying.

The performance of ESF students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is outstanding this year with almost 1,000 ESF students successfully achieving the IB Diploma. This is ESF’s eighth year of adopting the IB Diploma and the performance across ESF schools has gone from strength to strength over that time.

“The performance of ESF schools is exceptional. Students have achieved incredible results in the IB Diploma this year. 99% of eligible students have achieved the full Diploma with 7 students achieving full marks, 235 students achieving 40 points or more and 112 students achieving the IB Bilingual Diploma,” said ESF Chief Executive Officer, Belinda Greer.

Another 30 ESF students received 44 points. According to the results announced by the International Baccalaureate Organisation, only 146 students worldwide achieved the perfect score in the 2016 examinations of which 7 students are from ESF. The average score worldwide was 30.1 points compared to an average score of 36.1 for ESF students, which is the highest in all years.

In 2016, almost 150,000 students from around the world entered for IB Diploma examinations. Students choose six subjects, for which they can be awarded a maximum of seven points each. A further three points can be earned from an extended essay and a Theory of Knowledge course. At least 24 points must be achieved in order to qualify for the IB Diploma and students must successfully participate in a Creativity, Action, Service programme (CAS) of their choice.

Do you know the number of graduates for CDNIS? Without the total number, I won't be able to compare some of the statistics amongst all the schools

GSIS average IB Diploma score 40.17 points - global average IB Diploma score of 30.07 points and 33.16 in the Asia Pacific region.

100% of the 46 students have been awarded the Diploma.

3 students (6.5%) scored 45 points, the maximum score possible. Globally 146 (0.1%) students achieved a perfect score, with 54 in the Asia–Pacific region.

29 students achieved a score of 40 points or above. (63.0%)

43 students achieved a score of 35 points or above. (93.5%)

Do any SIS parents have insight into the results? Am a bit surprised by the 93% pass rate since most schools tend to be between 97% to 100%. Is there a special reason? It almost feels like a typo

Good job.  Just wonder if more information  including % 35+ and number of full marks could be added to give a more complete picture for reference.  I think these two data are normally given in the announcement of their IB results.

I tried before but the disclosure is not consistent amongst schools. Wind up picking 40+ since that is also a good indicator of admission into good universities

% is a game; 93% pass rate, i.e. only 3 out of 41 student couldn't make it. I would say it is acceptable in general.
