I do not mean to be offensive or rude. What is the point of having a chart like this? A conclusion that XXX tops, and YYY follows with ZZZ next in the table. Then? Does it mean that XXX students are better academically, and YYY and ZZZ are weaker in this arena? Or, XXX has a superior management while YYY is relatively poorly administered?

You mentioned, it is for discussion. What is the underneath area which prompts you to initiate discussion? Is it that what makes XXX the best interests you? Or is it what YYY and ZZZ lack to their counterparts? A discussion of this sort, which seems more substantial, is considerably meaningful yet a definite conclusion cannot be reached.

A successful IS (in a Hong Kong context) is one which helps kids to grow, and if possible, to excel in certain area(s).

Again, and sincerely, I do not mean to be offensive or rude. I am just skeptical about how a ranking like this does any good to EK members here. If my words are too strong, please pardon me.

Every IS has its own strength and weakness. In fact, each school is an epitome of the society. It is difficult to compare an IS with a general ranking. If you want to compare different schools, you can compare their public examination results if they adopt the same education system (such as IB or AL). You can also compare their college placements. Yet, such rankings only reflect their academic strength; it does not compare their weakness such as the number of drug cases happened in a year.

In short, it is meaningless to set a ranking for IS.

We choose IS because we don't believe in the Local system, which is obsessed in ranking individual students and schools. We believe everyone is unique and has his own strength and we respect each individual student and his own choice of school and there is really not much point to rank the schools.

唔同is都有唔同特點, a覺得好, b可能覺得唔好, 最緊要係啱自己小朋友. 小學我個人鍾情細間d的學校, 但大校有大校好, 都係個人喜好.  純粹係觀點與角度, 呢種ranking對家長選校其實冇物幫助.
