Just received a call from ESF TY ，school place is confirmed . Take it or not ?
My son now studying in YC . He just adjusted into the full day class . Teachers r really experienced too

ESF kinder students do have priority for ESF primary admission interview.

I think the 2 routes are quite different. Better to make up your mind on what path you want your child to take.
The quality of teaching is certainly far better in YC, but since it stresses importance of mother tongue (Cantonese for most of us), English lags far behind English speaking Kinders. Kids without tutoring or good English environment outside school will have difficulty in interviews of other IS later.

At least for last 2 years, for hillside, abacus and TY, only 1-3 per school do not get offers from ESF or its PIS at the end . Even for WKS only a few (less than 10) do not have offers .

Most Esf primary (esp sjs, KJS, cwb, BHS) have very few spaces for non priority group. With opening of tung Chung next year, perhaps aren't any.

Difficult choice I know!

Yes that's true . Since Is a PM class offer. I'm hesitate to take it . Also is not 100% guarantee a primary place even though there r high percentage acceptance from last year .. But is dragon year kids . It will be very competitive during primary interviews . I'm still not sure abt it . ESF really s good school . Apart from the language they r using . I'm quite satisfy with YC too . More importantly, My son can guarantee  go straight to primary .

你説的可能是WKS第一年，但埋單都有65%入到。而家＞95％啦。N年前事了。其他幾間，一直97至100％。

So far from what I heard from other parents about Esf Tsing Yi are negative ones, most of them applied just for the priorty of Esf interview for primary.

I suppose if money is not a concern, you can stay in YC, get some outside english tuition, and pay for the nomination right for esf primary (this rank in higher priority than esf kinder). A good early childhood education is indeed important. The reputation of esf kinder has never been particularly good.

Also, esf have never been a particularly outstanding schools, given the large class size, and the attitude of some teachers. Of course, if you want the IS route, it is the perhaps more practical choice, given the more sort after IS like CIS, GSIS, HKIS etc are so difficult to get in.

你說的分group 1 / group 2學生是以前的情況，現在沒有把學生分group 1 group 2的, 只跟priority. ESF 幼稚園學生有priority考小學內。

YC have very strong in manpower and facilities  (Of course the school fee is so high ) They provide one foreigner teacher , one Chinese teacher n one EE in the class .and now is full day class . I can spend more time with my little one too . So. Yes I will stay in YC as a back up. Will try to apply other IS for primary next year .

Yes I asked the waiting list no too. They refused to disclose .Maybe tmr. U will be the next one as I will turn down the offer
anyway. good luck to all parents

My child has sibling priority to ESF primary school, but we still decided to place him in ESF Tsing Yi.  We are please with the experience there.
