From the 2013/14 Annual Report published in its website, WYHK 2014 DSE results a ... The 5 or above % cannot reflect the average performance of the all students.
The average 3 or above % even can say is a misleading index.
Honestly, I think the info in WY annual report was written in quite "tricky" style.
Chinese is one of the subject most schools have difficulties to get high scores, the average 3 or above % may give a "false" idea to readers about the 3322 ratio of the school.
In WY report, it only show the "average 3 or above %", instead of show the 3 or above % of Chinese, which seems want to made the reader think the "3322 ratio" of WY is better than the real one.
In addition, there is another "tricky" thing, with refer to the following statement in 2nd paragraph of P.8 (P.9 of the doc):
Most of our students chose to further their studies locally. Of those who did so, about 65% were offered degree programmes.
So, what is the % of student offered degree programmes exactly? 65%? No, it should be lower than 65% because the report did not mention how many students had furthered their study locally.
The % of student enrolled in degree programmes = % of student further study locally x 65%
It may be 60%, 50% or even just 30%, only the school can tell you.
When compare with other school's DSE data, WY is quite protective.
