(綜合報道)(星島日報報道)國際預科文憑（IB）成績終於出爐，今年全球誕生了一百六十名滿分狀元，香港佔了二十七人，其中英基學校協會屬下的中學更誕生十四名狀元，成為全港之冠；聖保羅男女中學亦有三名滿分狀元及三名考獲四十四分的榜眼。有IB狀元不約而同表示，雖然已獲海外大學的醫學院取錄，但考慮到外國升學費用高昂，回港後亦要應考本地認可資格試，選擇留港升讀醫科。
　　全球逾十四萬名IB考生成績日前揭曉，考生陸續獲派成績單，其中一百六十人考獲四十五分滿分，本港佔二十七人。多所學校包括英基、聖保羅男女中學、保良局蔡繼有學校等，均出產IB狀元。當中英基的狀元數目更多達十四人，是歷年最多，該校考獲四十四分的學生亦有二十四人。
　　聖保羅男女中學今年共有三十二名考生參加IB文憑試，平均成績達四十分，高於三十分的全球平均分，誕生三名滿分狀元，另外一半人考獲四十二分或以上，並有三位學生考獲四十四分。其中考獲四十五分滿分的黎卓彥已獲劍橋大學、香港大學及中文大學醫學院有條件取錄，最終選擇入讀中大。
　　不少學子夢寐以求升讀外地名牌學府，但黎卓彥坦言，家庭生計由當工程師的父親獨力支撐，考慮到外國升學學費連生活費高昂，寧願留在本地升學，為家人省下百萬元的費用，「不想為了追求海外大學的名氣而遠赴外國，加重父母的經濟負擔」。
　　他又向家庭醫生諮詢過學術意見，認為在海外或本地讀醫分別不大，而且完成海外課程回港後仍要應考本地的「執業資格試」，但在本地升學則可免卻此舉。「中大有不少海外交流計畫，將來會考慮參加短期交流計畫到外地深造，不愁沒有出國機會。」
　　雖然獲英國著名學府招手，他最終仍選擇中大醫學院，是源於一份情意結。「小一至中二期間，曾參加中大教育學院舉辦的資優計畫，覺得中大讀書校園環境優美，自己亦被其濃厚的文化氣息及開放風氣深深吸引，加上自己與教授交流多了，感覺他們十分親民，希望延續與中大的故事。」
　　被問到有否計畫直接升讀中大醫學院二年級，他直言，若能獲豁免一年級課程，會善用額外時間進行研究或到海外交流深造，「如果暑假肯花時間溫習，相信可掌握本來在一年級應修讀的基礎知識。」中大醫學院回應查詢時表示，以IB成績入讀的學生，若考獲四十四分或以上，可申請直接入讀二年級。
　　另一狀元、修讀英基屬下沙田學院的黃曦彤，同樣獲三所英國院校醫學院有條件取錄，但因海外學費高昂，選擇了留港升讀醫學院。七歲開始打網球，十四歲成為香港網球少年隊成員的她，曾在多個公開賽中獲獎，五年前卻因長期運動勞損而脊骨骨折，同時亦改變她的升讀志願，由希望成為全職運動員，立志成為骨科醫生，「覺得醫生的工作很具挑戰性，而且即使離開醫學院，仍要繼續終身學習，令人生更充實。」
　　由聖公會莫壽增會督中學轉校到沙田學院的她表示，讀書心得是做好時間管理和認清目標，又坦言自己在香港長大，想回饋社會，「知道不少醫生認為在公立醫院，工時長壓力大，但自己希望能服務基層市民。」

I did a text search with my browser, the word "醫" appeared 15 times in that article.

Guess that means there is only one and only one profession in HK, and if you're not in that profession you're a failure no matter what XD

I am a bit disappointed to see that RC's figure is lower than ESF average mark. Given RC's tuition fee is higher and has more (positive?) comment than ESF.  
Anyone have the figures of the individual ESF schools?

Yes a lil disappointed by looking at the no. 34.9 but RC is relatively new compare to other ESF and they got one 45 full score this yr......I  was browsing the result of an international Sch in Kowloon, their mean is 35pt w 87 students given their school's fee is higher than many elite international schools in HK but that doesn't mean it's not a good school...
Shatin college did extremely well this yr... 3 students got 45 full score and 36.9 mean w 156 students

Let's not forget RC also has much more bilingual diploma students which makes it a tougher exam than what other ESF kids take

I think local community only have eyes for med and law. Too bad. 國際學校本地化

You can be disappointing with RC result but the reason being tuition fee is higher?  Who says IB score should be proportional to tuition fees?   Logos is probably one of the lowest in tuition fees but the score is very high. Does that mean most of all other schools are disappointing?

An average score is a statistical figure. Chances are your child will have a score much higher or much lower than the school's average. What really matters is the score of your own child. Stop being too obsessed with those figures.

Any one know how the local school choosing the IB candidates out from big group of students

I guess only
1/is that :SPCC they choose 32 brilliant out of the 200 F3 students into IB gp?
2/how many students are there in one form of Logo academy. Is that they also have the brilliant 42 out of the 200?
3/for CKY, are all students required to seat in IB diploma after the IGCSE in year 9-10?

I am curious to know how many of ESF IB 狀元 (out of 14) and those obtained bilingual diploma are studying at ESF schools all the way (e.g. from Y1 or lower primary)?

The reason I am interested to find out is because my two children are with ESF since kindergarten.

2 students of GSIS got 45 and average score at 38.5!   Pretty good in its first IB year!

So far there isn't anything surprising. Only exception is that the overall Bilingual diploma percentage of ESF is higher than SIS. People have a feeling that SIS has a better Chinese curriculum, right?  Can anyone in the know shred some light?
