新手RC想問問現任RC家長

其實在冬天，RC 的小朋友普遍比其他本地學校學生穿得少！
佢地一入到課室，老師會叫除外套（課室好暖），到小息、食飯時，d小朋友唔会記得着外套出室外玩，但由於佢地跑跑跳跳，所以唔覺凍！

My info is outdated so can't share much about the Chinese subject. They will learn Pinyin at the beginning.

Please don't worry for the curriculum.

Focus on the orientation and transition process~the year 1 kids are facing huge change. From kindies to a big school, they need to meet new teachers, make new friends, take care of themselves  and etc.

Parent's evening 之前去買校服的話，留意uniform shop open hour。店內兩位aunties都是超級好人，好樂意跟大家分享買校服經驗的。

The school has their own Chinese book. Not easy in my opinion, considering they only have 4 classes a week and I think the standard are similar to K3 local.  Well, at lease for my son, as he hasn't learnt any of those things when he was in K2 at his kindy.  

They learn pinyin, has a writing book and a vocab book where they use mostly in class and only comes home once a week.  The chinese text book get sent home at the weekend for you to revise with your children.  Family needs to be quite hands on if you wanna do well in Chinese I guess. The school doesn't give you enough homework but the expectation is high.  

There's only 2 pathways in Y1 but I think they group them into 3 anyway.  My son was at the bottom of a class where most children are mostly likely to be in pathway 3 in Y2.  My son is not doing so well with writing, as I did not spend time with him at home on extra work and only relied on the homework given, which i think was not enough.  Sorry, I'm one lazy mum and I guess I will find out whether he gets to stay at pathway 3 next year or get moved to pathway2 instead

Same here. My son's Chinese is so so but he could still survive in Pathway 3

Good to hear your son is in Pathway 3. I really hope mine can stay in pathway 3.  Fingers crossed!

there are lots of activities provided by ESL sports at RC, some during the week, some at the weekends.  At the top of my head, I think there's swimming, gymnastic, basket ball and football(?)

這是我喜歡的學校，ESF BEACON HILL排了好多年都無，現在排緊呢間。

1) 如GRADE 5 會很多功課嗎?
2) 師生關係如何?
3) 校風好嗎?
4) 插班生多嗎?
5) ECA要穴額外付錢嗎?

Year one學生的（免費）課外活動印象中是沒有；但PE Lesson在三月至六月有游水；另外alternative 星期五有Sport Friday;

ESL的活動付鈔就可參加，以游水、足球、網球、籃球為熱門，RC也有rugby, 但不知details.

Y5 & 6會有較多活動，忙起上來會嚇死人。Y6 每人均要學一種管樂，全級合奏；另外老師會挑選40人入Band of 40, 特別表演和比賽；今天last school day, 我們便入了Disney表演。

Y7 之後活動更多， schedule好難撹。

想問下校服既黑色鞋你哋係著黑皮鞋定其他?  有冇黑色波鞋?  如果波鞋係咪要全黑?  因為好難搵.  唔該先.

管樂樂器有冇得自己選？還是老師決定？

黑色波鞋上有些其他顏色是ok的，啡色、白色波鞋也接受，只是有時我仔始終要著黑皮鞋，如表演、童軍，所以才需要買。

高小時阿仔even著螢光黃的波鞋，不過來年Y7, 佢話中學老師較嚴，所以要求買全黑波鞋。

除非你有學開管楽，可以講給老師知；其他會在Y5上音樂課時試吹，最後會由老師安排。
