新手媽媽: Tutor, Kingston, PIPS 邊一個會容易入esf

我是新手媽媽, 女女現在一歲三個月, 在tutor sulfork返了三個月pg, 可以直升n, 昨日收到kingston 電話可以interview入pg, 看呢個forum 話, 有得interview 都等於入到,
我想問下,
1. Tutor 定kingston 好一點, 如果想小學入ESF
2. KINGSTON 要比十萬NONREFUNDABLE , 大家覺得值唔值
3. 小學Kingston 好定 ESF 較好
4. 我排PIPS, PIPS 比tutor 或kingston 邊間好一點, 我都比了五萬 (refundable ), 機會大唔大, 因為家住PIPS 附近, 所以希望可以入到.
希望有經驗家長可以幫幫我, 謝謝大家

如果你吾介意比錢，不如留來買Esf的nomination right。

入playgroup或幼稚園，無小學或你並不心儀它的小學，吾值得買debenture。

ESF幼稚園 咁難入, 擔心入唔到又錯過機會, 兩頭唔到岸

U can go to local school and move to Esf later.
Lots of people said it was easy in this forum.

Esf係non selective school，佢只要學生英文達標就收，並無考核小朋友其他學術能力，此為易。但好多人報，抽籤無必抽到，此為難。

上Esf睇吓資料，除Esf學校，仲有Esf旗下的學校RC和DC，Esf學校睇catchment area，RC和DC則全港報得。讀左Esf小學一般可以升上中學……你心儀Esf，就要多做功課了解它。

Relatively easy for ESF kindergarten pupils to enter ESF primary schools, success rate has consistently been over 90%, a bit harder for non-ESF kindergarten pupils but they still have a fair chance. There are around 1100 Y1 seats in ESF foundation primary schools, around 1400 if you add in the ESF private schools (DC and RC), while there are only 700 ESF kindergarten pupils.

The difficulty (especially for non-ESF kindergarten children with no other forms of priority) lies in the sheer number of applicants. Each applicant is assigned a random number and whether an applicant gets invited for interview depends on that number.

你所講的我都知, 我係想問幼稚園上小學競爭大唔大, 會唔會"西"走好多人, RC 同DC 在地點上未必會考, 特別係DC. 你的子女是否在ESF 讀, 是否幼稚園直升? 小學多唔多其他新同學?

我覺得ESF係完全估計不到入唔入到。有好多冇passport的朋友子女in 都冇得in...除非你有sibling 。仲有人人有個priority number真係似lottery呀！情況似傳統學校的大抽獎

For ESF, the passage from primary to secondary is guaranteed, the children don't need to face a round of selection or elimination.

If the child manages to get into an ESF kindergarten, then the success rate is over 90%, what cannot be predicted is whether he/she may just happen to be in the other 10%. For other kindergarten children who don't have any form of priority, then it is really up to luck as it depends on whether their application gets allocated a good number, so yes it is pretty much like a lottery.

Why you target ESF, I suppose it's primary?

幼稚園上小學吾會篩走好多人，但並非一定收，聽朋友講，係有逾90%。
我小朋友讀其他IS，不過Esf是大校，識讀Esf的都唔少。

Please don't mind me jump in and ask.  The non-ESF kindergarten children need to go through a sheer number which works like a lottery or waiting number for the interview sequence.  Then how about ESF kindergarten children, do they need to go through a sheer number or they have the chance to do the interview automatically?

By the way, i lived in element where is in the middle between kidergatden in TSANG YI and wu kai sha. Which school will they put my daughter in as catchment area. And which one has a bigger chance to get in. Thank you so much!

This is my understanding of how it works. Every applicant is assigned a random number, and they are prioritized first by their ranking (i.e. staff's children, sibling, kindergarten etc) and then by their assigned number. So for example an ESF kindergarten pupil with number 100 will come before another ESF kindergarten pupil with number 200 but after a sibling with number 500.

The interviews are done in stages, say a school will interview 300 applicants in the first round, and that means even ESF kindergarten pupils may not get invited if they have a bad number, but there will be first round interviewees who fail the interview and some who decline offers, so the school may do additional rounds of interviews and those ESF kindergarten children who were not invited in the first round may get invited in these subsequent rounds, most if not all of them do get an interview at some stage.
