Info not true. Offers given recently do not "require" the purchase of debenture, or more correctly, you are not given the right to buy one, given that the debenture is expected to appreciate in value and so the school probably decides to issue later at a much higher prices.

Very misleading information. No one is required to bring a cheque to the interview. In fact, you may not be able to get a debenture even if you want one. You either try your luck in second hand market or join the queue for the next batch. It does sound crazy but there is huge demand for school debentures.

NoahArk is right. Things may have changed but our girl got an offer from Harrow for Year 1 three years ago and we didn't pay a penny (except for the admission application fee) - we didn't buy any debentures. We heard from various sources that a number of kids whose parents bought their debentures still got rejected.

It is not true. Even debenture holder not guarantee a place. U hv to pass the admission test, then u hv a chance to be given a conditional offer. It is very good school, they care a lot about your children.

I don't know why, i just have a friend who have 2 sons applied for Harrow last year. Older son at primary, no debenture required. Younger son kindergarten, but need to get debenture.
