Thank you for your heartfelt message, it is very much appreciated. It is true that the decision is a long term one and requires deep thinking, in addition to working between school and family. 在家輔導？還是在外上中文班？其實在家訓練，给孩子assignment.佢會肯做到幾多歲？

我的小朋友才4歲, 未上小學. 但是, 我在家教他中文, 沒有外出上堂, 現在教他認字背詩寫字. 他肯做到幾歲? 我不知道. 但是, 我知道, 我是父母, 我有權威, 他不能不從, 況且, 做慣了, 做得開心, 覺得學中文好玩及有用, 自然繼續.

但我覚得—番学，多左時间接触非中文語境，同学老師好朋友都唔講中文，大大下就会唔願学，老鼠拉龜禁~~

說的不無道理，所以要靠家長的恩威，父母也要創造中文語境。畢竟這兒是香港，也不是太難。至於程度，就各有要求。

對不起，騎劫了樓主問法國國際學校之位而談中文。我明白讀國際學校小朋友不願學中文，而父母又要他們學箇中的困難與掙扎。但是，容許我在這兒作最後一點的補充，如果父母都採取"算吧啦，佢都係學唔到，學唔識，反正識都冇用，返學用不著"的無奈態度，那麼小朋友一定學不識（天才另計）。態度決定高求。想想吧，已經冇咩外力推動，唔靠父母在後面推，小朋友又點會有動力學？父母在這關口上，是非常重要的。我有朋友是嫁了法國人，她孩子在港讀書，但是，她沒讓孩子學中文，那是她的取態。我亦有朋友的孩子一直讀國際學校，現在已是20多歲的年青人，廣東話英文普通話三語流俐，詩辭滿肚。一切都看父母。加油啊！難，一定的，但不是不行呀！

I got your point but I hope your kid is motivated while not forced. Just my 2 cents.

I got an offer from their ITLP programme. Any one can share with me about the language?

Honestly, i will disappoint if my kids can't speak english properly after studying there...........

or Should i consider accepting if i target for (1) language, (2) character buidling and discipline, and (3) reading habit
