I am looking for IS for my boy and one of my colleague's kid is studying there, but my colleague doesn't recommend it. The main reason is the school only offers year 1-8, but there is nothing after year 8. Although the school already applied land from government, you know how "efficient" is the process of finding land and build a school...
Besides, my colleague said not all the teachers there are enthusiastic.....

The current license of NAIS is to offer education up to Year 9 in the existing Lam Tin campus.  The result of land allotment for international schools will be announced soon, maybe in April.
Both my kids are studying in NAIS, my whole family is very satisfied with this school.  My kids have been studying in 3 different international schools.  NAIS is the best.  I highly recommend NAIS, except maybe the existing campus is not big enough for secondary students and the uncertainty of having Year 10 onwards.

My kids are very happy studying in NAIS, no stress at all. Not much homework and usually can be done by themselves. This school has lots of assessments and mini tests, but usually not notified beforehand.  NAIS assesses what students have learnt and understood in classes instead of what they have studied just for tests.

So there is no 'formal' exams? Is your kids happy there? Many Caucasian studying there?

For the past 2 terms, I did not see any "formal" exams.  But I think the school will have "formal" exams for higher year grades in the future.  Some questions in the current tests are taken from IGCSE papers to test the students' levels.
My kids are very happy and they think NAIS is better than their previous schools in learning.

Being a brand new school in Hong Kong, having more Chinese and Hong Kong students are expected.  I think Harrow same too.  As time goes, the mix should be more balanced.  Currently, the proportion of Caucasians in lower year grades are higher than in Year 5 to 7.

Choosing a "right" school for kids is very difficult.  Each child is different.  All opinions are for reference only.

The curriculum and teaching style of a school may be suitable for a child, but may not match the learning style and personality of another child.  Even under the same curriculum, teaching styles are different among schools.

I am very satisfied now that I finally found a school that really suits my children.

GOOD LUCK to you all in finding a "RIGHT" school for your children

my son's year 5 classmates are nice, but you know, kids of this age no matter which school are not as nice as those little ones. as for curriculum, it is uk, topic based.
