When I say bad news for those applying for reception next year, that's because reception used to be the year of mass in take so some ppl wouldn't bother with applying for pre-reception. So imagine someone who didn't apply for pre-reception this year and plan to apply for reception next year, that's terrible news.

Yes, I think you mean pre-reception (k1 age 3), right? As prep (k3 age 5) is full day.

I don;t see the difference for applying reception next year but the year after. As the spots for pre-reception will be increased in next year, not this year (i mean 2015/2016) right?

Spots for pre-reception will be increased THIS year 2015-16 onwards, so there are less spots for reception next year.

I suggest that you guys can set up a What's app group within your grade. I did that last year when we first entered CDNIS. It is very beneficial for the kids to know others ahead of time, and get in touch with various moms even if they end up in different classes.

For those of you who got pm offer, what time is the class.  I got am offer and might switch.  

And the current teacher - management dispute seems to be quite serious, would anyone of you worry that the school won't be the same anymore ?

As of this year, PM class starts 11:50am and AM class starts 7:50am. Do note that during rush hours the school buses usually take quite a while to reach their destinations even within HK island, so AM students need to wake up quite early. AM class is attractive for younger kids who are still napping, and PM class is good for kids who are learning to take care of themselves (you cannot rush a 3-year-old learning to button his shirt).
Last year after looking at the bus schedule, I decided to change my AM offer to PM as well. My 4-year-old son can now put on his full uniform (including underwear, shirt & socks) all by himself without help. That's something only ample time in the morning would allow. However, for a child who still needs a nap, sleep (neural development) outweights all other advantages.


As for questions about the recent happenings, I still see it as a  family issue (until we resolve it then we can announce the outcome to the public). I guess I can join your what's app group for a short time to explain. I will PM Wylie if that's okay for me to 'intrude' :)
