當然係父母係國內做生意或者打工至會有機會讀國內IS啦！而且國內IS學費咁鬼貴，一系就係公司比錢，一系就係自己做生意學費可以報銷扣稅！

我囡讀耀小，除中文一科外，全外籍老師，即除中文課外，全英語。中文小一用粵語，小二開始教普拼，之後中文課會用普通話。
小息時，和同學交流語言沒限制，我囡小息一起的朋友多是香港人，主要對香港人用粵語，另有兩個朋友仔是英國人，對英國人就會轉台。

並非質疑甚麼，只是外籍老師上課不會說普通話吧？

They are talking about secondary section.
According to a friend who has children at YC since primary (now in secondary), many teachers in secondary section are either local cantonese hong kong chinese, or mandarin speaking chinese from china or taiwan. There are of course also english speaking teachers as well. But because students are mostly local chinese, english is not used as the main language of communication on campus.
Of course, the language of communication should not be in any way related to the quality of teaching. Some parents, however, may not like paying the premium but not having their children use english more at school.

Nintendo　這様就奇怪了、ＥＳＦ　Ｄ学生都有３、４成是ＦＲＯＭ　ＬＯＣＡＬ　ＦＡＭＩＬＩＥＳ，点解I hear them using English all the time? Very rarely they speak Cantonese or Mandarin but just for 'fun'.  我自己女女有個八婆団、ＰＬＡＹＤＡＹ時清一色只用英文ＢＯＲ．　所以whether they are coming from local families or not does not determine what language they use.

I am surprised that you are surprised?
As an ESF parent, you should know very well ESF and YC are very different right?
ESF has always been an english medium school. Heads are all english speaking people. The culture generally is very western. Except chinese classes, all classes are taught by non-local teachers. Even there may be a few asian faces, they are all native english speakers, educated overseas.

YC has always been a local private school. Just that they are providing non-local curriculum. The management (boss) is a local chinese family. Even they have hired outside people to be head or principal of school(s), the actual "boss"(bosses) are still the family member. In secondary school, besides chinese classes, many other classes are also taught by local chinese teachers.

Not say which model is better. But definitely very different.

無，YC係政府確認的國際學校。ISF, ESF RC and ESF DC 等等反而正確來說是私校。

其實係咪正式國際學校有其歷史原因，都係整體教育重要過名。

何謂一般人心目中的百份百國際學校教授模式？可有共識？YC只要滿足發牌條件，和有學生，不是你或我的要求。

聽過家長非常同情地跟我說，ESF唔算國際學校，點解唔讀乜乜乜，到依家都唔多明白，無去查清楚個secret liasison 系咪$$$$$, 定系其他？

Well no need to be surprised that I was surprised.  I was just referring to your previous comments saying "But because students are mostly local chinese, english is not used as the main language of communication on campus."  If that is the case, then ESF students should speak Cantonese/Chinese among themselves.  But we all know that is not the case.  Anyway, I think I am off the track here so let us just leave it as it is.

You are a too sensitive. That paragraph was a description of YC and thus myy "because -- > therefore" regards YC per se. It is not a logical implication for all schools.

Tradional Esf students only speaks English among themselves. An Irish who graduared from esf told me that the English standard of his Chinese classmates were just the same as him. It has pros and cons. Some may not be willing to stay in HK as they find difficult to adapt to the main stream culture.

However, the trend may be going to change as China becomes the world spot. I guess there is nothing wrong with the bilingual schools. People should pick up with the school they are most comfortable with.
