Any bad comments about IS students?

My husband wants our kid to go to IS but I have hesitation since I heard many bad comments about IS students, eg openness to having relationships, take dxxx (because they are usually rich or have rich fds), girls wearing short skirts, swearing and naughty in general. Anyone heard of these bad comments and which IS in particular? Sorry no offence but this is the perception after reading discussion threads

It's even worse if your kid goes to band 3 local school. 吾關IS定local事，呢個世代，人就係開放咗、多咗引誘，好睇父母由細到大點教。

拍拖！哪間 Local School？哪班？沒有人拍拖！現在的 Local School 小四、五、六 已有人拍拖！

短裙、校服、頭髮......哪間 Local School 訓導不是日日去捉人....

校園上報新聞、離家出走、打架、偷野、性罪行、黑社會..... Local School 每星期、每月多的是！！！

Personally, I think 拍拖 is very normal and I won't consider that as 'bad behaviour'.

I think those IS with more local chinese will have better conducts(or less so "open"). If you like, those with christian background will be even better?
But of course cannot compare that with 修女local school.
But to me wearing short skirts and light make up are not bad behaviour. I wear mini skirts too when I went to uni.
Drugs and promiscuity are of course not acceptable.

講到短裙和化妝上學，有些IS是有，但其實佢地的打扮係類似外國teenagers的打扮，在佢地的角度，係好正常，這樣打扮亦吾代表佢地係壞份子，或者吸毒、濫交。

其實大家都要了解埋現時香港local school學生係點，有朋友係社工，佢話新一代女仔，好多屋企係無長褲的，四季都露腿。local修女band 1學校的學生，大部份係乖和純，但家長要考慮這是否你想小朋友成長的方式。

We all have different benchmarks for what is considered as 'bad behavior' and stereotyping International school student because you 'hear' they smoke, wear mini-skirt etc is really unfair. How many International School students you have met behaves this way? I have also hear many good students in International School, why don't you ask which school has more of these 'good' students? Would you believe the comments if a lot of ppl vouch for these 'good' schools?

Most importantly, school isn't 100% responsible for a students behaviors, you cannot blame the school entirely if a student smokes/take drugs etc….. Parents plays the most crucial role in a childs' upbringing, not the school. I don't think any school can satisfy your expectation if you plan to rely on the school to teach your kids moral values and good behaviors.

IS 明顯地在英文上佔優，而英文好又是將來讀書就業的 ...

而且IS包容性很高，很少會因為學業要留班

Actually i have. Some parents find that IS is too loose and lacks discipline, and change them back to LS after Year 1. Of course the kids hated it but are all young to protest. Personally i am totally for IS (as i grew up abroad myself), but for parents who grew up in the local system it is better to ensure you know what you are getting into instead of trying to change the school or switch the kids out once they are in. The damages are more severe in all aspects if you do that.

I agree that LS and IS are 2 different worlds, but they have their own good points. I am trying to let them taste both of the worlds at the same time, so that they won't feel either side is too weird.

同意，又難怪的，無小朋友時吾會留意，到有小朋友先開始了解，好多人仲以為「肯比錢就讀到國際學校」。
