I see no reason to try avoiding those elite schools just because someone else label them as 貴族學校。If the school thinks your kid is good enough, why not let him try?

At least Tonbridge and Harrow will give musical elites extra consideration. Their orchestras have paid vists to HK in the last few years.  Feel free to send them your sons'CV in music or video recording of his performances. If your son is really a strong candidate, an ordinary visit as planned may well turn into a surprise.

Definitely Westminster, the best of the best in the heart of Central London. But they only take (extremely few) Year 12s. And you must fly over for interview.

Chetham's School of music, 學術全英排97，學校有個特點，就是學術音樂雙發展，如果你想將演奏成為第一或第二職業，Chetham's有世界一流的音樂家做老師，學費自然貴，但有得申請補助， 如果只是重學術，£3160/term學費仲平, 有Day有boarding 選擇，正曼城市中心，Victoria station隔離，我open day幫朋友遞申請表時去參觀，學校先進設備齊全，新舊building，學生老師溫文有禮，學音樂的人氣質零舍唔同, 我遲些upload我參觀的相片係度。

500人應考喔！如果我早知會有500人應考，我唔會俾我女去考。£155一次考試賺近100萬港紙，呢D學校擺明.......，我唔like

我大仔當年報一間排名頭50的私校Year 10, 個朋友係英國見過校長知道只得Waiting位，間學校一様照招Year 10生，係香港一樣有成70人考，每個收百幾磅考試費，我就覺得學校很商業化。

咁⋯⋯報考哈佛／耶魯等學校都要80USD，每年3萬人報佢地賺成2000萬，點計先
計我話，有機會報考一間有>60％機會入oxbridge/ivy league既中學, 一人一萬都照殺啦，可能每個人價值觀唔同啦

問題不在錢，而是收報考人數，如無甄選制度預先過濾報考生資格等同來者不拒，明知自己學校要求全A*~A就應有所篩選，現時這種做法就有賺錢嫌疑，有些家長不知要求的情況下想博一博，等同丟錢到鹹水海，很唔抵，我女兒成績雖然在要求中，但500人應考，我也無信心鬥得過國內尖子，如要再拼家底及背景，人外有人，天外有天…
