IS P1 to local schools?

understand IS students are not eligible to enter primary one central allocation system,  but can IS year 1 students (aged 5) apply for local private school or direct subsidy scheme schools?

Yes. If you take the offer by ESF, you are not eligible to join the lucky draw as it is subsidized by government. This doesn't apply to other IS.

But my nephew just did the central allocation and he's with ESF primary. His mom asked the EBD office in Wanchai and confirm he could. Anyway, he wasn't assigned the school of their choice so he continue to stay in ESF.
