ESF to local primary

想問下若讀國際學校幼稚園，如E S F，但不打算讀國際學校小學，如何銜接。有冇人試過。咁佢地得k1,k2咁之後一年點算。

相信真的很銜接，尤其是ESF kinders（及部分真正international kindergartens) 的中文只是聊勝於無。
如你讀國際幼稚園是想provide english environment..可考慮一些英普幼稚園如SC，LH等。當然英文exposure較真正 IS 少一點，但相對中文就能夠和本地小一接軌。
若你只心儀IS kinder的stress-free 課程，可考慮本地一些happy schools e.g creative. 這些學校基本上也是為升本地小學而設，但又不會太催谷。

完全同意樓上說法。
不打算讀國際學校小學而走去讀(真正個d)國際幼稚園；我保證你後悔。

只有打算讀國際學校小學而最終冇學校收的家長先會無奈行呢條路。

讀完2年唔讀/冇得讀國際學校小學咪去讀local kindergarten k3；自行搵local P.1 or大抽獎升小一。
但到時中文唔得；英文唔見特別好。兩頭唔到岸....

If you don't intend to have your children follow the IS route from primary school onwards, it is better for you to start your children on the right path by choosing local kindergartens.

The "good" local primary schools look for certain qualities in their candidates, like being able to write simple sentences in Chinese and English and having a portfolio of certificates, most international kindergartens including ESF ones do not prepare their pupils to face those challenges so their chances of being admitted are slim.

It is possible to send your children to an international kindergarten and bring them up to the "good" standard by supplementing their studies with lots of after school tuition, or by sending them to 2 kindergartens, one local and one international, but this is really for people who have not made up their minds regarding IS or LS and want to keep their options open for a while longer, if you have already decided then there is no point.

Personally i agree with you (and i did what u said) but i am afraid you will become a "porcupine" after touching the taboo of studying 2 kindergarten...

It may be taboo but it is reality also, from my personal observation at least 10% of ESF parents do it. Nowadays with admission to international primary schools becoming more and more competitive I expect even more people will do it, not because they have not decided between IS or LS, but because they want a Plan B in case their children can't continue down the IS path. I may not agree with this practice but I won't criticize it either.

小兒正讀ESF K1.  雖然不知道閣下為何有此想法, 不過有些聽說local primary school 小一interview 不會考中文, 如港大同學會.

One option is to finish grade 1 in ESF and apply for local schools.

我不知道面試所要求的中文程度，但老老實實，以國際學校的中文的「牛羊豆米」，過到面試，接唔接到小一的「命運、興奮、震撼」？

小兒在唸直資小學，他的同學中有些是來自國際幼稚園的，相信他們的家長在孩子唸幼稚園時有安排學習中文。

六岁前孩子的学习速度是超强，　如果做好引发孩子的学习'好奇＇和＇心态，和专注力，　再多再深的字，三个月内必然追上，　再过三个月是追过了．．．．．

係本地學校近十年的要求提升了很多。阿女讀本地幼稚園時真係學牛，水，口，豆，等。

學寫字不難，學字意才難，幼童如何意會忐忑不安，震撼心靈？

所以我不嬲都話依家小學中文不必要地越來越深。
