Let's divide the international secondary schools into 3 bands

If we divide the international secondary schools into 3 bands, I only know CIS and GSIS will belong to band 1, how about the others? Please share your opinion.

Does band 1 stand for "most expensive"?

o_O Its ok to have such idea, although I dont like the idea. I think we need to think abt the rationale and value behind the banding policy in mainstream school. It is just some technical means /technique for resource distribution. As far as I met, parents from IS are very reflective parents.

樓主的孩子應該十分年幼吧！新手家長對IS認識不多，常見是「想把最好的」給孩子，容易憂心忡忡。原意是希望孩子讀書少壓力，卻成了家長的「大壓力」，無情情的把壓力帶進生活中。好事變成壞事了。

自己是傳統教育的逃兵，逃出來的大享受就是看到孩子的純真友愛，他們的世界十分公正和平，不會攀比，亦少見自我菲薄。這些是萬金難換的素質，一比就輸了。

找間正常架構，合適家庭價值觀，又覺得十分舒服的國際學校便是了。所謂band one學校，也不一定是制造大量band one孩子的地方，就算是，剛好不是自己孩子，那又怎樣，魯忙的把學校分類，如同草率的把孩子分類，就算孩子入了人人羡慕的學校，如果未能保持赤子之心，必然產生格格不入的感覺，很快便自我迷失了。

Discuss不如選本地學校，有banding給你reference，唔使搞到在論壇比人笑。

樓主如果好重視學術成績，可以爬吓舊文，有有心網友整理舊年各學校的IB成績，可以參考吓，又或者上學校網站睇吓university placement的結果，香港IS就幾十間，吾花好多時間。

每個人想法吾同，個個家長自己對吾同學校多少有點看法，甲之熊掌，乙之砒霜，你可以自行分等級。

Seriously, I think a table listing out the costs (real and hidden) of all IS in Hongkong is more useful, at least it will allow parents to properly gauge which are the ones they can afford.
