ICS in Shek mun has a special needs program. But it stops at eighth grade I think

ESF has better support, and are more open minded as ESF has this All-Inclusive policy. Wish your child all the best!!

ESF has more support, I saw my daughter's class has two teachers are taking care kids who have ADHD and the kids have big improvement after a half year school term.

ESF, they even have a school called Sarah Roe specially for SEN children

My son is a gifted child that he used to study at such school when it was opened 2 years ago.  It was a very bad experience for us.  The Head and her Deputy made a mistake to accept my our application.  They might be desperately looking for new students at the moment and overlooked the date of birth of my child.  Subsequently they found my child was not contented with the subjects that they taught him and accused my child having a behavioral problems.  I defended for my child but they only asked me to explore other situations.  It was in September, I had to lock every other international schools.  Thanks God, my son is now studying at another international school.  He is happy and ready for middle school in next summer.  Frankly speaking, I do not believe this school is ready for children with special education needs.

其實多多少少都反映咗那間學校有幾多愛心。響學校網頁寫得幾動聽都係假，怎樣處理有需要既學生時候就現形，就算間學校真係支援不了都可以用令人容易接受既方法處理.....

I rarely visit this website but when I saw your response.  I have tears in my eyes and remember those unhappiness.  Please allow me to keep my child's current school in discreet as I still recognize a lot of parents may not like thier children having schoolmates with special education needs although my child is talented.

My daughter has special needs and she is currently attending NIS.  Overall, we are contended with the support that the school provided.  What really matters is the school's attitude towards supporting students with SEN needs and the experience of the SEN support staff.  

My daughter was previously attending another international school outside HK.  Our experience so far is that the class teacher is understandably the least supportive, as who does not want to have all well-behaved kids in the class.  You need to count on the SEN coordinator to provide the right program or directions to the shadow teacher.  So the SEN coordinator and the shadow teacher matter most.
