請問DSE的港人考生如何英美升學?

可以以DSE成績直接報考英美大學嗎?由於不熟這個制度，希望各位指點一下。

英國，可以透過英國大學聯招（UCAS)報名，最多5間大學，如果學校對你有興趣的話，會給予Conditional offer. 最後dse的成績如合乎offer的要求，便可直接入大學。如果dse的成績末達要求，但又不是太差（一般起碼3科3級至3科4級）以上，可考慮大學基礎課程班，讀一年後，如成績達錶，便可升讀大學一年級

要程交；校內成績(transcript), 個人陳述（personal statement），推薦信及ILETS  成績

USA: DSE will only be treated as regular high school coursework with NO credit granted in college (and hence unfortunately is unfavorable compared to IB/AP/GCE); all applicants must submit SAT/ACT as standardized testing. TOEFL iBT also mandatory for DSE candidates

DSE選修科如中史、中國文學都不獲承認。
一般英國大學會睇3科DSE成績。

很多學校通識是用中文教，中文通識卷，外國唔睇唔出奇，唔知DSE通識成績有冇列明是中文卷或英文卷

Tier 1 UK U's will only look at rigorous subjects at A-level standard and general subjects are not competitive in the admission process.

英國大學考慮兩類收生方法. 1. 計UCAS tariff points, 2. 直接計3科dse成績(一般由成績5、4、4 至 5、5、5）不等.
英文成績當然計,只是不計中文,中史，中國文學及通識，另外combine science喺不計算科學科,只當普通一科，例如想報工程,醫生...等,沒有用的

DSE English (as distinguished from English Literature) is definitely not equivalent to an A2 level subject of GCE and I doubt it is even upto AS level.  I think normally UK U's only consider it as evidence of competence in English, like IELTS, but not as one of the 3 required A-level subjects.

I've just come across the "Acceptable English language qualifications for undergraduate study at UCL" and found the following note:
"Please note that English Language taken as part of the HKDSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) is not acceptable."

如唸住報英國U，數應該take M1/M2，否則入到好U機會微！
