This is an interesting topic but a pointless discussion.  People all trying to validate their chosen path.  Just another case of confirmation bias by "you-know-who" who can never see the benefit of other possibilities.  His kid might have an open mind from an IS education but the father certainly need to learn a thing or two.  Let's not forget, LS and IS are not the only choices.  Some of the best HK kids are in boarding schools as well.

I also wonder if the second point might be broader than just salary.  If one is an IB teacher, what are the considerations in evaluating a job?  Some of the factors that come to mind are salary, the schools educational philosophy, quality of administrators, teacher community, student quality, ...  For all of these factors, I think a good IS will be equal if not better than a NSS.  Given the large number of increases in IB DP programs, it will be interesting to see whether NSS can hold on to good IB teachers.
