I remembered on the first day of accepting the application of NR, there are still quotas left. The case you quote are quite extraordinary, as far as I know, unless the silblings do meet their entrance standard, otherwise, there should not be a problem.

yes, you are right,  my friend wanted to buy a nomination right in KJS for year 1 place but was told that it was full  and not accepted her application.

Finally , her kid went into RC without buying nomination right which save her $500,000. However, her target secondary school is KGV, so she will switch her kid back to KJS or beacon hill if vacancies arise.

As the priority is
1. Corporate nominees
2.children of esf full time staff
3. Siblings of student attending esf
4. Nomination rights

This may apply to KJS  and not all ESF primary schools are full for accepting nomination rights. Each school has a preset quota for NR. KJS is quite popular hence the NR quota was gone quick

Yes, I know that nomination right for other ESF primary schools may not be full but my friend said if she needs to spend $500,000 , she must choose the one she wants her kid to get in and not other ESF schools which is too far away from her home.

如果你買左NR而又pass interview就一定有得入，但衰左interview就退返＄比你，而且入不到。

我真是見有人failed interview 買左NR都入唔到，呢樣嘢ESF係好均真，唔會因你買左NR而爲$而收。

我開始都以為ESF會為$500,000降低 interview 要求，原來是諗多左。

可以說NR not guarantee to get in?? That means it's fair to those who didn't buy NR,  but with same level of English!!

其實ESF NR, 今年已經第二年有，第一年出時 （150 個）quota 係用唔盡。今年我知好快已經full 咗，尤其係Kjs. 因你只需比5萬先，一定有得interview, pass 咗就比埋45萬。 唔pass 會退番比你。我亦知道有小朋友買咗NR,都failed interview 架！所以唔好諗住買咗NR就一定收硬。

都不用失望，每間有NR限制配額。但扣埋silblings 應該有一半呱。我幫細女一歳排kellett,剛問佢waiting list 排330！我依家希望大女入到kellett,esf,rc咁細女先著落

所以我開頭都係諗住睇吓好無彩, 如果唔係就讀LS. Not everyone has that kind of money.

That was luck which you had randomed a top number and could offered an interview by the esf random system.  If you had randomed a number at the end of the queue, whatever how smart your kid is, you will never get an interview offer.

Therefore, applicants need Luck in order to get a "ticket" for an interview if they don't have any priority.
You were one of the lucky one.

我覺得 all depends on luck.，尤其 N 無人士 (non staff, non ESF kinder, non sibling, no NR).  最緊要抽到一個好前嘅 priority no, 有得 interview 係最重要。

I know my daughter was just lucky and I keep reminding her that.  Otherwise, she just need to study in LS for few years.  That's life!

Is the priority no referring to the application ref no of the application of esf kg and p1?

I wonder the no is really random without any logic behind. There should be some priority logic behind before assigning a no to each application. What do you think?
