The more appropriate way to put it is:

ESF 收生糸統如同六合彩。

Of course the child still have to pass the interview, given that the child is lucky enough to get one to begin with. It runs on a lottery system in terms of assigning spots to eligible kids.

Copied & edited from my own previous post:

ESF is mainly based on a "lottery" system.
- Every applicant receives a number (say 1 to 4000 etc)
- Their screening process separates applicants into the pass or fail category
- For those who passes, they will get a place in the order of priority & their number

So, say a kid that passes, with staff/sibling priority, #4 will go first, same as kids with priority #6, #10... until all passing kids with priorities are done. Then, the kids without priority will go next, in accordance to their number, say #2, #5, #15.... It is very possible that an applicant holds #3687... then the chance of getting in is very slim.

Some school's first batch of interview co-relates to the number of seats they have, some may interview more; either way, the wait list is long, but everyone has a chance.

Much cheaper tuition fee. 30 kids in a class compared to other IS.

Some key facts about ESF. Whether these are pros or cons depends on how one looks at it:

- Uses the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum all the way from PYP, MYP to IB
- Teaches mandarin as a second language, mainly using simplified Chinese
- Campuses spread across Hong Kong, students limited to the school in their catchment area
- Kindergarten, Primary & Secondary schools needs to be applied separately
   (please correct me if i'm wrong, not sure about transition into their secondary schools)

Actually only DC and RC do that.  Others are IGCSE + IBDP.

Only RC and DC use pyp and myp. Other esf primary and secondary are bit by bit changing to pyp and myp that is in the process. Esf intakes all primary student to the secondary according to catchment area.

Though the class size is 30, there are 1 teacher and 1 teaching assistant in one class.  In case some kids in class who needs extra help in certain activities, they put more resource.

Can I say ESF take enough resourses to all kids? Seems like ESF is the best IS, including cheaper fees

All my friends who interviewed ESF K1 got a place this year. Maybe more difficult in primary ?

It is still correct to say only DC and RC do PYP, MYP and IBDP through chain. I am actually skeptical on whether ESF are trying to move secondary to MYP. Anyone more knowledgeable here?
