I would like to render my comments as follows:
1. 如果讀醫,香港的水平與美國、英國大學比差幾多?I would have thought that the standard of the basic medical training is more or less the same in US, UK and HK. All medical schools in these countries/places can offer the first class medical training to the students. 係英國讀左醫之後返香港,係唔係與其他國家返來一樣都要考試先可以做醫生?So long as you are not trained in Hong Kong, you will be required to take and pass the licentiate examination before you are allowed to practice in Hong Kong.

2. 英國top大學的醫與美國比,好定差? For basic medical training, I would think that the standard of UK medical colleges and USA medical colleges are more or less the same, However, if we talk about medical researches, I think the medical schools of the top US colleges such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, UC San Francisco, UCLA etc are, on the average better than those in UK (except, Oxbridge, Imperial or UCL).

3. 最緊要,申請英國大學讀醫,有邊的試一定要考?IGCSE、IELTS?考左TOEFL係唔係可以唔考IELTS?係唔係唔嗮好似申請美國大學一樣要其他課外活動?If you want to apply to Oxbridge or Imperial College, you need to take the BMAT, You need to take UKCAT for other UK colleges. The only college that does not require additional medical aptitude test is U Bristol. Apart from good academic result, I think you need to demonstrate to the admission tutor that you are passionate about medicine and you are fit to study medicine. The best way to demonstrate your passion is the activities taken outside classrooms.

For all UK undergraduate medical program, only U Bristol does not require any medical aptitude test.
If you apply to Oxbridge, Imperial College or UCL, you need to take the BMAT test (arranged by Cambridge)

For other medical schools, they require UKCAT tests.

For post-graduate entry, as far as I know, none of them requires the applicants to take BMAT test. However, some of them would require the applicant to take the UKCAT test.

I have the information just because my daughter had gone through the applications to UK and HK medical schools two years ago, She had also applied and admitted to the pre-med program of one of the top US college. I provide the information for sharing purpose to my best ability but information may change during these two years. Would the parents feel free to correct me if any information I wrote is outdated.

would you mind to share information on "pre-med program"?
what is it?
is it compulsory to study this program prior to apply medical school?

The cornerstone of an US education is the liberal art studies – you have a lot of choices to take and explore so as to find out your true interest during your college time. Apart from some compulsory subjects such as creative writing or a foreign language, you can choose whatever subject you like in the first 2 years of study. Most US colleges only require you to declare your major subject in the 3rd year.

The medical schools require the students to have solid foundation on science and related subjects. If you miss the prerequisite subjects, you cannot fulfill the requirement of admission to medical schools.

Some US colleges would therefore create a program called pre-med program for its undergraduate students. The program ensures that the students who graduate from the program have taken all requisite subjects to apply for medical schools. For top US colleges which offer pre-med program, their graduates would have a higher chance to be admitted to the medical schools according to the statistics. This is because the competition for the pre-med program is very keen and the number of spaces is limited. Only the top students are admitted. If they could perform reasonably good in the pre-med program, they have better odds to be admitted to the US medical schools after graduation.

The UK and Hong Kong system are a little bit different from the US's liberal art system. In UK or HK, you will study your specific program in the first year, although recently the colleges in Hong Kong would require students to take some elective subjects offered from other departments in the first 2 years in order to broaden their horizon. So there is no pre-med program offered by the UK or HK colleges to its students. Having said, if you have a science degree with majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Biology or other related subjects, you are eligible to apply for medicine through graduate entry.
If you are a pre-med graduate of US colleges, you are eligible to apply to the UK or HK colleges for medicine through the graduate route.
