good summary and can't agree more! Average tuition with no miscellaneous fees to pay at all, yet providing quality teachers, facilities, lots of fun activities for kids and families, workshop for parents, and a very happy bilingual environment.. To me, these are exactly what to look for when choosing a kindergarten for my child.

in terms of the curriculum, they encourage kids to raise out questions they have at the beginning of each unit / project. Teachers will then plan a series of activities to teach the kids how to find out the answers they need instead of just feeding them with model answers. Things they do to find out the answers include: library visits, checking up dictionaries, web browsing, field trips. Teachers will also write down all the questions on a large paper, and they will walk out the classroom with the children to encourage them to ask people in the nearby community (building confidence). For subjects like Maths, they had tried making strawberry jam together to learn different measurement units through the process (weight, volume, calculation...). Kids enjoy a lot!

想讚讚上面picture家長的分析，幾全面！我反而覺得維記是進可攻退可守，我認識有維記家長出外補學術，仔女維記畢業先後入了Dgs 同co-ed, 亦有朋友想輕鬆d直上維記小學，雖然唔係必收。家長的取向其實是最重要。事實上，大部份維記畢業生都上本地小學，這是公開數據，我欣賞學校將升小一資料放上網，要知道不是每間名幼都這樣透明。

個人所見有些小朋友是話極唔聽，日日都meet同學仔塊面七。今日meet A聽日meet B.
.
.
終於一曰見到湊佢嘅工人……係郁D都大聲喝嗰隻。原來在家比人喝罵的，難怪講極唔聽。

讀維記一定要出外補學術先可追到小一直資既考試？

我K1咋未知呀！

不過我覺得小朋友equipped with自學能力 和有學習興趣，開心，健康，2文3語溝通能力强 ，就是好的candidate.

我相信好多學校收生都有睇家長職業，有朋友老公係醫生，佢個仔考學x園K1表現非常一般，都收左。反而好多in 得好好都唔收。

天外有天、人外有人……小一直資入學試有幾難真係好難講……每一間都好似比賽咁……一年難過一年…………一味追唔係我目標。
。
。
。
我只希望我的孩子在學習的生涯中能夠做到佢自己的最好，從而建立自信和self-identity.

可能因為學額很少所以有「很難入」或「睇家底」等感覺。但事實上就自己所見，身邊家長包括我自己也不一定是專業人士又或有什麼特別家底。當然有部分是以上的，但並不是很多。

我覺得反而家長誠意和育兒理念是他們較重視的。家長一般都是真心信任學校教學方法，在2nd In時校長可以從交談中知道家長是否真的了解學校又或只是純粹在答面試model answer。又例如家長要明白不要和其他學校的學生比較功課量、比較排名，小朋友在這環境下都可以發揮得很好的 (純粹個人意見及觀察)。

对呀！我都不是有家底或勁人不過我確實認同Vic的教學理念。我所認識的都不是戰鬥型家長，但對小朋友的學習(不是分數)着緊。·

Yes another upside of IB is that if the kid is more advanced then classmates in a certain area, more complicated tasks and concepts will be given to him/her to attempt so as to keep the learning interest burning.

VSA the primary school has always been doing that but recently my campus' principal affirmed such application to kinder kids too.  

During my last meeting with my NET, she told me in the following exact word,


      "I have no concerns on your.daughter's English.  The concern in on me that I have to start thinking how to give her more as it is very clear that she is well above the other kids....."


You can imagine how grateful I am.
