CIS reception year interview

Does any family here have joined this year's CIS admission process? I just received the school's interview invitation,  and I would like to know do they release the interview offer as well as the acceptance offer by different batches?

Congrats! You are very lucky to have received the interview invitation!  We also received an email from them today, however it's telling us that they are NOT able to even offer us an interview at the present time.  What a bummer.  Best of luck to your child.

They sent out invitations to interview at about the same time (interviews are spread over quite a few weeks).  Offers were sent out more or less the same time (late March) last year too.

Do they interview parents or just the kids?

In the invitation letter, it is written that the child interview will be held earlir than the parent meeting

Thanks cnh0397!! But I really don't know the criteria of how to select the kids to attend the interview, besides, if you accept the invitation, you should pay another 2k. Anyway, I will do best and have a try...

For those who has no interview, when did you submit your 1st round application (not the questionnaire) ? I heard if the submission was too late, say in Oct, they put you in low priority for the interview.

We submitted ours in May but still didn't even get chance to be interviewed.  I wonder what factors they based on when they select candidates for interview, aside from the ones on their main priority list.

Not related to the submission date I believed, last year I did the 1st date to submited the application but still no interview.

No CNR, no priority. I think the questionaire should matter.

I am a little bit worried, as my gril shoule be one of the smallest ones during the interview, as she is Aug B, while the school just accepts kids from 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2010 for 2014-2015 reception

They interviewed the kids only.  Last year, all parents and kids were asked to wait in the library on the G/F.  The teachers would then come to bring the kids to the classrooms on 1/F where the interviews took place.  Make sure that your child is ready to separate from you at that point.  
The purpose of the parents meeting was to give parents more info about the Hangzhou programme, rather than 'interviewing' parents.  I suppose they wanted to make sure that parents agree with the Hangzhou initiative and are ready and happy to allow their kids to go there for a year.  They would also want to make sure that there's sufficient support for learning Chinese at home.

Thanks for the info, I was really thought that the parent meeting is a kind of parent interview~ Yes I agree the separation from parents for some kids might be a problem, while the school would like to search for the very independent and confident ones.

I also received an invitations to interview.  The parents' session will hold before the kids' observation session though.

Mine is after the kid‘s observation, which will be held next Feb, what about your schedule?

Parents' session is early December and kids' observation session is mid-December.

You may belong to the first or second batch, and we may be in the last batches...anyway, my daugther is small B, it is not a bad thing for me
