年少遊學 學歷薪酬較高

美國一項調查發現，成年受訪者倘在12歲至18歲有遊學經驗，會較沒有遊學者有更高的學歷與年薪。

瓦格納集團（Wagner Group）研究稱，57％曾遊學者可得大學學位，沒有遊學的只有33％取得學位。在就職薪酬方面，前者的年薪較後者約多5000美元（3.9萬港元）。報告無法確實證明遊學有利提升學業表現，但受訪者中有89%認為遊學對他們的教育和就業有「良好影響」。86％人表示，遊學增強了他們的求知欲。認為使他們對學校所學更感興趣者，亦達八成。有九成人稱，遊學兼具教育性、趣味與啟發性。

另外，美國克利夫蘭聯邦儲備銀行依據美國勞工部數據及全國青年縱向調查的研究揭示，高中數學科讀得深，是升學以至日後能否擁有高薪厚職的關鍵。

數學讀得深易高薪

美國高中的數學由準代數、代數1級、幾何、代數2級等逐步深入。研究所見，數學讀得淺的學生僅五成升學；讀得深的則有68％可升學。20至30歲全職人士的時薪中位數顯示，數學讀到幾何或代數2級才放棄者為14.36美元（112港元），在準代數、代數1級便放棄者的時薪不到12.7美元（99港元）。

Yes and no, some go for working holiday and gap year.

The survey was just referring to educational trips and not working holidays or gap year.  Gap year isn't a very popular concept in the US anyway.
But I would take all these with a grain of salt since they only surveyed 400 people and it appears to be a study sponsored by the US Travel Association.  I think we can pretty safely guess what the outcome would be before the survey even started
