The quote seemed to be a minimum.  BTW, salary for many people are just of comparable to 97 level.  Yet, the property value is very high compare with 97.  What's more, subsidies from Gov't have not been increased for long or only with very limited increase, how can the school increase the salary for teachers or other colleaguesl?  

Same situation to many people in HK.  No salary increase but the general price for food, public transport and utilities charges are increasing.  How can everyone to maintain their living standard?

What can we conclude?

一般香港文職 job description 你見個幾多份唔寫句：Fluent spoken and written chinese and english? 駛唔駛無限放大。

工資價格係由市場決定，冇人願意做的工作工資自然高，所以校工8000，洗碗過萬。。。如果DPS將工資訂得唔合理，佢地將會請唔到人。

老實講，你想要幾多先?

他們不寫 basic, 寫 fluent，有幾無限放大呢？

If a company or a school managed to offer more but they refused to, I also agree that they are 無良.  If they don't have resources or they are not able to offer more, I would only say its pity.

可能佢個 "fluent" 只等於你個 "basic" 呢！

寫 "Fluent in ..." 實際上係好常見。

見你問，上網隨便找找。。。 普通fresh grad 都係10-12K

其實1個fresh grad人工最低應該有幾多?

    Gardening services such as watering, soil cultivation, digging, weeding, mulching, fertilising, raking, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation, forking, planting out and replacing as necessary and at the correct time.
    Pruning of all shrubs and trees at the appropriate time.
    doing basic landscaping and designs for the beautification of gardens.
    Maintaining the cleanliness in the gardens, grassed areas and sport fields by sweeping and pulling out dead plants, removing rubbish.
    Laying fertilizers and other chemicals to flowers and plants.
    cleaning up litter in planting beds, grassed areas, roof gardens, sport fields, driveway and social areas.
    Scout for pests and disease.
    Adjustments of mower height and quality of cut, etc.
    Alerting the Facilities Administrator to any problem areas.
    Wearing the correct safety clothes and equipment

I am sorry, but having the resources but not offering it does not make you 無良.
It is when you manipulate and control the price unfairly, such as in a monopoly, that makes you 無良.

Frankly I don't see DPS is in any position to control TA & gardener wages.

Let's say DPS has the resources and start hiring TA & gardener at 30% above current going rate.

What should DPS tell their auditors when challenged?
Can they tell them that it is because they don't want to be 無良?
Can this unnecessary spending on government subsidized fund be justified?

I can totally understand that living on 9K in HK is a tough tough deal, but blaming the problem on a school?
That is just so lame.

Hmmmm, may be I have no put myself clearly.  Anyway, I agree with you.  Especially when the school is using public resources, every dollar counts.  Its tough for the school also.  I can recall there are some DSSs offered more for good quality teachers being blamed for spending too much and without control.  Its always easy to pick the others.

唔知边位多口,封左几间好学校是'神校',唔成为'眼中叮'才是奇事!!!! 自问算是大方, 也老是觉得名目是offensive.  你话是神校? 我算是老几???

有钱的记得扮穷人, 自己的孩子是超超班, 记得话系好好彩, 读过吓书的, 就话唔多识字. 入左响当当的ivy league, 最好唔提大学的部号, 不是不想老实, 而是坦白的代价是没朋友做, 大家还是低调, 再低调...........再低低调.

有同事話因為公司俾唔到佢有好的生活費嘅工資, 所以佢覺得公司幾無良. 但以佢嘅工作質量及資歷, 大家都覺得高過市價. 咁係公司無良乎?
