It is Po Shan's playgroup. Heard it is really good, but very expensive as well. They have no website, only FB page. Need to call and ask for application form.

My son is going to ITT, it's the most professional playgroup ever!
Yea, it's not cheap (7000 / month for 3 days a week) but worthy

ITT is good, campus is nice, facilities are superb, teachers are experienced.  It's a good playgroup itself.  But attending ITT doesn't necessarily mean you gain a spot at Braemar Hill nursery school.

yes my girl is attending its First Step now and joining Head Start in August.  Great PG, love the teachers.  We used to go to TutorTime but it was incomparable to ITT.  The location is a bit inconvenient, and majority of the kids are accompanied by their moms (sometimes dads or grandmas), meaning that u wouldn't get as much out of it if u have helpers go instead of the parents.

but it's not "international", so this is the wrong place for this thread

When my son was around 1 yr old,
I called for enrollment info
Staff told me the 2 yr old class already full

honeybunny7  Yes because they promote students from their Head Start program (for 18-24mo olds) into ELP (for 24+mo).  u must first join the Head Start pgm.  發表於 14-4-7 16:06

You need to apply when your baby was born. I heard that the queue is very long.

It is always a good practice to apply earlier rather than later.  However, ITT states in the application that acceptance is NOT on the basis of first-come-first-serve.  There must be some selection criteria but it's not clear to us the parents what those criteria are.
For example, we applied last June when my daughter was ~5 months, and got notified of acceptance into the First Step program in November (which started this March).  A friend of mine applied a month earlier but did not get accepted into the First Step program.  He got accepted into the Head Start program in this August.

In the application form you do not get to choose which program to join.  They admit you when there's space in the program that fits your child's age.  The Head Start program is easier to get into than the First Step program, as there are 4 sessions for HS but only 1 session for FS.

Hope this clarifies.

You know the TT PG has an English class and a Mandarin class, and in each class you get ~10min circle time and the rest is free play, plus a playground time in the middle.  We liked the playground time, but felt that the teachers were not a bit engaging during circle time and they were extremely "hea" during free play.  So it ends up the parents playing with our own children, and we do that at home anyway, so what's the point of going?
At ITT, the classes are more structured.  First Step program (1-1.5 yr old) is 1hr 15min long, equally divided into 4 classes with 5min in between to switch classrooms.  The 4 classes can be one of these 6: Language, Playroom, Sensory, Art, Music, and Gym.  Language class is half English and half Mandarin, Playroom/Sensory/Art are in Cantonese, Music/Gym are in English.  Parents are 90% local.  That's why i said this is not an international PG.

The reason why 90 percent of the parents because most of us wanted to get into breamar hill eventually and BH prefers parents which target local schools than international school.

Having said that, the facilities at ITT are great and the teachers are caring. Even if my child is not accepted by BH at the end, I will still recommend ITT to my friends.

First Step is $4,800 per month.Don't know about Head Start yet.  For continuing students, we'll receive more information when we have confirmed our chosen time slot.  Heard that it's ~$8,600?
