Can any parents share what are the benefits of studying MYP? What kind of children are suitable for it? What about if children have not come from IB PYP, even if they already have excellent English, will they find it difficult? Many thanks!

其實 IB MYP 只是雷同國際學校的 grade 6 至 grade 10，只是教學上的內容和評核準則不一樣。假如讀 IB MYP，要考慮學校有否提供 IB DP　一條龍，否則完了MYP，只能考IGCSE　和　GCE。部份香港的學校只提供　MYP，也有部部份提供　MYP+DP，還有一部份只提供　DP,　也有個別的學校能提供由　PYP+MYP+DP　一條龍完整的　IB　學制。
有沒有讀　PYP　並非很重要，等於不少本地小學生在升中時進入國際學校，開始的時候會有適應問題，但大部份都能很快過渡。
有良好英文能力會較易明白，也容易和老師溝通。重點是你的絯子第幾班才入讀MYP，若在第九班或之後才入讀會辛苦些，因為功課在第九班開始加深。

按 IBO 網頁，香港現有八間中學提供 MYP，此八所中學都提供 DP 課程。

有沒有家長可以分享吓MYP的學習情況，是否很多projects做、多不多trips、老師給學生的指導或feedback是否嚴謹等等？謝謝！

There are 8 subjects in MYP, and students are required to complete a personal project, which is very demanding, at the end of MYP. There are quite a lot of group work. Only one overseas trip a year for my daughters' school, and students can opt for local tours if they prefer. Higher grades may have more trips.

MYP is NOT a must before DP but it would better prepare students in terms of understanding the DP requirements, e.g. the assessment criteria.

MYP but no DP does sound odd. Kind of defeats the whole purpose?

抱歉引出誤會。我的回應是泛指在選學校時要顧及的情況。

我的內文應該把香港二字刪掉，以免出現誤會。由於我不知樓主的孩子準備讀那一間或那一班，所以無特別查證，只希望提醒若只有MYP而無DP的後果。我的孩子前數年讀 MYP 時，學校便沒有 DP，學校也指明會有風險，要學生準備應考IGCSE，但他們正努力申請認證，最後我的孩子在該校完成DP。

由於學校申請 DP, MYP 或 PYP 都需要 IBO 在師資和課程上的認証，認證過程需要時間，故此部份學校是可以只提供一個課程便招生。這個情況可以在 IBO 學校網頁上找到。按照現時 IBO 網頁，香港有 8 間學校提供 MYP, 全都提供 DP。但其他地區，還有不少學校只提供 MYP 而尚未提供 DP 。
