My boy is rather delayed in terms of speech development too. Instead of taking class to 'help' him, maybe should first identify the issues!?! Advise you to go through some initial checklist to rule out autism (which if have some indications may need a more thorough assessment) and/or go to a speech therapist for a language development check.
I was advised by other parents to wait and see. Yes you can always do that and in most cases our boys r just fine, taking their own pace. But in the worst scenario case, there maybe something seriously wrong that require more attention and treatment e.g. hearing impairment, tongue problem etc etc.
It's also critical to encourage your kids to chew bigger pieces of food. Children who r too lazy to chew solids usually lag behind in terms of speech development.
