Thank you for your advice. Is the EPGY Program suitable for a First Grader?

Your friend can join EPGY program organised by Stanford University ( I believed you can apply via internet or through Infokids locally) for her daughter. This program aims to provide fast-track knowledge acquisition in Maths and Science subjects for gifted kids.
The credits earned in completing these subjects are recognized by Stanford and other world leading  universities like Harvard, UCLA, Cambridge and Oxford.

Kumon is a fair choice, as compared to EPGY program. Logical thinking can be trained by topics called 'Logic' and 'deduction'  in Maths.

EPGY program is for gifted kids from 5 to 12 , should be no problem for your friend's daughter.

She should select carefully about which subjects her daughter should enrol, the ones which are her favorite and strong ( talented ) at. As far as I know, there exist only one chance to fail and repeat the same subject. Otherwise, you have to quit the program and enrol some time later. That would be quite a defeat for a young mind.

想請教: 我可否了解多一點關於EPGY program?有web-site嗎? 我的兒子今年十歲, 係咪太大for the program? 從我多年的觀察, 他對動物生態方面較感興趣, 平日除了讓他多看紀錄片, 有關動物既書, 亦有在家養些小寵物, (他說他的志願是生物學家呢!) 還有什麼可以做的呢? (他韋氏測試中verbal 部份係140, non-verbal係98), 謝謝!
