聽朋友講，DSE考不少文言文。其實，離開校園後又有多少人會再接觸文言文呢？學生的時間是有限的，如果沒有考那麼多文言文，學生便可把多些時間用於日用中文上。可能會令香港學生的整體中文改善一些。有些人會説＂文言文是欣賞中國文學的根本＂，身為中國人一定要識。那麼，在初中時學一些不就夠了嗎？那些對中國文學有興趣的學生一樣可以在高中時選修。中國文學一科才大量考文言文吧。所以DSE考少些文言文對香港新生代整體是有利而無害的。

我都唔明白。自己所認知是來自閱讀，而非中學課程及考試。

不要只聽朋友講，硏究中文科共有幾多卷，再計文言文佔百分幾。

用此思維，同樣可以問：為什麼要考那麼多sin, cos, tan？離開校園後又有多少人會再接觸sin, cos, tan呢？為什麼要考complex numbers？離開校園後又有多少人會再接觸complex numbers呢？

中國文學文是另一回事吧!中國文學並不只是讀文言文，還有很多古文，詩經，唐詩，宋詞，元明清雜劇等等......又是另一層次吧!當中又包括很多歷史背景。

單純以欣賞文言文而言，我真係覺得文言文的遣詞用字及行文十分出色㗎，意簡言賅。

學到一成都好

反而，依家啲所謂作家，句子累贅，詞不達意，學咗一成都c

日常生活中，接觸到文言文的機會一定還有很多。報紙雜誌寫文章的人還是很愛引經據點。比起新生代的潮語微語火星文，文言文順眼很多。

In the real world, things don't happen by chance and without a reason, and there is a good reason why 文言文 was abolished for everyday use.

Would English speakers today speak or write in Shakespearean English? Yes they do study Shakespeare, but as literature and not language.

As for the "潮語微語火星文", they don't happen without reason too, they are not promoted by any single authority and occurred naturally as society progressed.

When 白話文 first came out, many thought that was a disgrace too, but it stayed and it was 文言文 that became obsolete, for the simple reason that 白話文 is closer to the language that people use everyday.

我記得讀書時的中文老師講過, 文言文讀得好的, 白話文肯定唔會差得去邊.
