仔仔好恨有呢套書....想買套Beast Quest 比仔仔...邊度或者點買最抵?或者邊度可以買到二手?係咪有一個一個Series咁買?

如果無特別要求那一套，我以前搵過最抵係上 www.bookdepository.com 預定未出的，因為 pre-order 有折扣。下一套係三月出。

如果唔一定要啲 collector cards，就 Scholastic 出嘅又會平一截，不過啲男仔應該都係想儲咭⋯

thx.我仔仔話要UK版，同美國版唔同既咩！？我想問下咩叫shrink wrapped pack?係咪只係將成個series pack 埋一齊咋，内容都係一樣！

UK = Orchard vs US = Scholastic

the beasts are drawn differently, some even have different names! and of course only the more expensive Orchard books have collector cards!

如果你識人有UK地址及可幫你轉寄或帶回香港，你可考慮在 thebookpeople.co.uk 或者 redhouse.co.uk 訂購 Beast Quest series。Each series consists of 6 books and the price is just GBP 6.99. They offer free UK delivery for purchase over GBP25 and GBP15 respectively. 請留意除了書價，你也要預算轉寄費用。

如沒有人可幫你轉寄或帶回香港，你就要貨比三家，自己上網去格價，以下是本人常用來購買英文兒童書的網站：

1. Fishpond.com 及 bookdepository.co.uk - 這兩家的書價已包括郵遞服務。
2. Amazon.co.uk - 書價不包括郵遞服務，運費在checkout時才計算出來。請注意運費可以是一個很大的數目，隨著件數而增加，詳情請參考網站資料。


關於Amazon，請留意在網上看到的貨品/書不全是由Amazon提供的，有些是由third party seller提供的，而且不是每位seller 都提供國際郵遞服務，以下是我個人最近的一個購買經驗。
1. 在Amazon上搜尋想要的Beast Quest books時，我發現一些third party seller quoted very low book price e.g. Less than GBP1.
2. 我選了一個customer rating很高的seller，然後集中去選購他有的Beast Quest books。
3. Attempted checkout but did NOT final confirm the order so that I can see the total delivery charge. 雖然每本書的價錢都很便宜，但Amazon會每本加上GBP7 的運費，結果是不到GBP10 的書價要加上超過GBP100 的運費，這個價錢會比香港的地上書店還會貴 so I put it on hold.
4. Instead of placing the order, I contacted the seller through Amazon to negotiate the delivery fee as they should be able to batch all books into one delivery. After negotiation, the seller agreed to refund most of the delivery charge once I placed the order.
5. As all the email communications through Amazon are recorded, I trust the seller and proceeded the order. In just a few hours, I received an email from Amazon confirming the refund.
6. End result is that I got a batch of Beast Quest books of an average price about HKD27 per Beast Quest book.

Note that it takes time to negotiate and not every seller is so nice.

其實最抵還是去圖書館借書。

fyi, Fishpond is offering big discount (over 80% off) for most of the series 9 books (UK edition which is more expensive than the US edition). Below please see the price I got today.

Ursus HK$47.37 (this is the only book in series 9 that FP offers a smaller discount about 65% off)

Note that Fishpond provides free delivery meaning the the price covers delivery charge.

唔緊要，隨時BD寄失咗然後refund給你，到時又可比較唔同書店的offer再選購。

BTW, you may send an email to BD's customer service today to report that you have not received the order yet. They will then give you a standard reply for you to check with our local sorting office. You can tell them nothing can be checked if they cannot provide any tracking reference. By the coming Friday and if the order still not arrived yet, you may chase for the books again highlighting three business weeks have passed. There is not much for them to help except for refunding you.

Just because he has strong incentives. He loves the books and he knows I'll not buy if it's not a good deal. You may try to involve your son in book selection and shopping too.
