Yes, I know.  You know my situation.  i.e. I want him to study in HK for two more years.  I understand it's difficult to get a year 10 place.  If it's not successful, I would let him go for A level.

If you decide to send your son in 2015, your son may better take a foreign language subject such as French, Spanish etc by now so that he can catch up with the GCSE curriculum.

Oh, yes, thank you for your advice.  He is now studying Spanish (preliminary).  Better than nothing, lol

I meant formal course aiming for GCSE Spanish and not interesting class for Spanish.

I have several friends' kids who were not allowed to study French after one term's fresh start study in French in Year 10.

Hi CPU1995,May I know where to enroll GCSE Spanish? Or do you know if student is not qualify to take foreign language, can it be dropped?

I understand that there are several commercial org teaching GCSE Spanish in HK and the tuition fee is about $400 per lesson.

Your kid of course can drop the foreign language as many schools would request the sub-standard student to drop the subject lest the fair GCSE results jeopardize the school ranking.

Some of my friends' kids even study three subjects such as Latin, French and German. If the school provides free tuition on foreign language subjects, why not take it and prepare beforehand before studying abroad?

另，公校是否較少強國人入讀呢 ...

宿舍內絕大部份是英國本土學生，除了英國人以外，香港人算是第二多，但都少於10%。此外，還有少量同學來自歐洲、美國、南非，也有一位超勁叻的非洲裔同學。
入讀英國公校一定要是英國公民或持歐盟護照，內地學生應該極少，就算有都是早年已經移民到英國的地道英國人。

英國的移民政策非常緊，國內人民要移民到英國並不容易，反正公校也不是他們的目標，他們才不稀罕。

有去旅行呀！不過唔使坐飛機，我地去了長洲旅行，入住明愛明暉營，四人房三百幾蚊兩日一夜，挺好玩的，不過上落明暉營三次，超攰！
Term break 時，因為要進行大清潔，所以房間內一切個人物品都要移走，但非貴重物品可寄存於地窖的儲物室內。

State schools require students holding EU/British passports while independent schools do not have such requirement. Also, high ranked state schools have strict  age requirements and HK students normally have to jump one form.

The boarding fee of state school is about 10,000 pounds per year while the school fee together with boarding fee of independent schools are about 23,000 to 33,000 pounds per year.

This year, my son was admitted by independent schools with school fees of about 32,000 pounds and I finally gave up those offers and chose a state school with 10,400 pounds boarding fee only.

請問State school 讀中學係吾係 有age 的 規定，即 9 月1日前要年滿11歲才可讀year7, 如此類推？ 有冇exception 的？

Year 11以下，將衫放入袋，有學校職員幫手洗淨和焗乾。Sixth Form 就要 DIY

排名愈前的公校，對年齡的限制愈嚴緊，例如九月一日滿十二歲就不能報考Year 7； 排名較後的，他們知道香港人讀多一年小學，通常會較彈性處理。

唔係間間用洗衫袋，問下學校先，否則連蔑都要縫name tag.
