Predicted grade question

Hi, Big brother/sister;

Anybody knows how the U's admission officers count the PG
score because  the score is a range i.e. 38-42. Will they count the higher or the lower score or the average score. In fact the U's E-admission form only allows you to fill maxium two digit..:tongue:

我比較孤陋寡聞，原來有學校可以pg 係比個range出來的嗎？咁學生&家長就當然回用最高數字去填報ucas or non-jupas。

我估計間學校係唔想估錯吧，或現階段唔想比一個definite既數字，遲d先吧，畢竟submit去ibo係出年3月。

其實我都想問，現況係(以小兒學校為例)，
7月尾口頭出一個數 (a)
9月中black & white 一個數 (b)
12月中再review，再出一個數 (c)
3月submit final 去 ibo (d)

(a)就純粹比學生/家長預知一下個成績等學生暑假準備搵乜u，報乜科。
(b)就真係用來比學生報ucas & non-jupas。
好喇，假如(c) & (d) 同 (b) 唔同，咁點搞呀？向上調就固然拿拿聲通知 ucas & non-jupas啦，萬一調低呢？仲有係(d)最後係3月中先submit，可能某d u 到時已經出左offer比學生，但到時先知原來個pg 比如已經由(a)果時42/45跌到(d)得翻 39/45，咁個offer仲係唔係valid？如果呢個strategy行得通，應該間間都先估高再調低丫。學校又似乎又無乜責任喎，佢可以講係憑當時學生既表現作出評估，(a)(b)(c)(d)於時段上隔左成大半年，有上/下調實屬正常。

I know nothing about Predicted Grades.  But I googled and found this Sha Tin College News Update which said that despite the final predicted grades (d), the original higher education predicted grades (b) already sent to universities will remain unchanged.

By the way, I also read in the following ESF report that "many universities in the UK consider GCSE and IGCSE results to determine offers to students, rather than predicted grades for ‘A’ level and the Diploma."

If local students not taking IGCSE, so PG is the only measure for eligibility.

I can't see universities accept student based on purely, in that case why conditional offers, they should grant firm offers, but the didn't!

今年改了𣿬報方法，老師可以俾範圍例如6-7，如果6個6-7，誤差就會好大。
妳跟兒子是否滿意PG，如果OK自然冇問題，不然差1-2分要跟老師研究，是否有改善空間。

佢好像不太满意，但如果係報較高
的PG分數，都有機會報讀較熱門的科目。聽説有3個同學PG 滿分，真利害。

這樣的話到哪時候還有機會報更好的大學嗎？

May I know the original source of range of PG is now accepted?

For infomation ,those reply:

From HKCU

You may put "IB predicted grade: 36-40" in section III. AcademicQualifications in the application form. You are advised to submit the gradeprediction certificate to us.

From HKUST

We will verify the predicted grades you input with your academic referee during the application review process. You may ask your academic referee to put the predicted grades in the reference form they receive from us. When you fill out the online application, you will be asked to put in a predicted score (instead of a score range) for each individual subject. You may wish to further discuss with your teacher to come up with a more precise predicted score of your IB subjects.

From HKU

You should input the score which is most likely to be the exact one.
