I guess due to score boundaries, the boundaries for Chinese may be higher than English or relatively ... I don't agree your point about SB of English and Chinese. You can notice that the percentage of level 5 or above of both subjects are almost same for all students from band 1 to Band 3 . That means the number of students getting level 5 or above are almost same for both subjects. Normally, students with better English skills are highly localized in band 1 school. As a result, they can get the better result in the examination. While students with better Chinese skills are more even distributed all over band 1 to band3. As a result, the percentage of Band 1 School students getting level 5 or above is less.
Up to this moment, only Band 1 school dare to announce the HKDSE result while non-Band 1 schools still keep silent.
