國際小學難入，如提早入紙申請中學係咪機會大D？

依家國際學校D位咁緊張，細囡讀緊英文私小四年級，想同佢轉讀ESF嘅學校，我知等緊入ESF嘅學生好多，我都唔敢寄望小學階段能夠入讀。依家入紙排得黎讀中一會唔會容易D，因為我覺得中學D學生很多會出國，D位無咁緊張，唔知我咁諗啱唔啱？

基本啱。我大仔讀緊ESF，升上中學以來，每個學期都聽見佢話邊個邊個同學又走左，當然都有新同學入來，但流動性肯定比小學大

ESF have a specific timeline for applying the first year of the secondary section. It is usually during SEP of the preceding year.  

Then they have lucky draw to "select" candidates for written exam.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Your son is now P.4 in local school which equals to Y5 of ESF, so if you want to apply for Y7 in secondary school, you have to apply in the coming September 2012 for 2013-14.

乜原來要Lucky draw 揀人見架！ 我仲以為係睇報名嘅先後次序面見添！我仲諗住中、小學都入定表排隊，小學唔得就等中學，睇吓邊條隊機會大D。咁學校係咪優先揀持外國護照嘅學生見先呢？香港出世的孩子要讀國際學校係咪要等好耐，有無成功例子小朋友插班等咗幾耐至有機會面試和入讀？

My kid got foreign passport but she failed in the lucky draw.

My friend's kid got UK passport, applied for secondary senior year, not called for an interview or whatever.

Foreign citizenship/nationality is irrelevant for ESF's purposes.  Please visit their website, which clearly states that Cantonese-speaking applicants are regarded as category 2 applicants, i.e., irrespective of how fluent the applicants' English is, so long as they can speak Cantonese, they will have lower priority than those applicants who cannot speak Cantonese at all.
