Can anyone tell me what is meant by "little words" or the principle to identify the little words?

It means that there are some simple word hiding in that word, e.g. 'old' is hidden in 'cold' & 'car' is hidden in 'scarf'. It is useful to help a child to spell the words and to remember chinese word also. :  :

It's a kind of word game to help children develope their vobcabularies from simple to complicated words.  The principle is similar to playing crossword puzzle.
