SSGK vs SKH

My friend got 25 marks for SSGPS and decided to choose SKH because she likes SKH environment. I also want to follow the path but she told me that she is a marginal case to enter SSGPS in 3 years time and I am risky to choose SKH if I apply SSGPS. However I think even my child study in SSGK, I only have a higher chance to knock door only. My husband like SKH as well. Our target is some good DSS and will apply SSGPS for government aided school. Which kinder should we choose?

from a practical point of view ~ there is no connection between SKH and any primary school at all.  you will have to be on your own 3 years later and enter into open competition with everyone else.  

For SSGK, one of the primary reasons of their admitting so few kinder students (just 60 a year) is to ensure that most, or preferably all, of their kinder students who wish to go up to SSGPS could get a space (but of course there couldn't be any guarantee).   Taking into account the few boys who wouldn't be going to SSGPS and the few who choose other primary schools, SSGK has quite an impressive overall figures of kinder graduates being admitted to the primary school.  To put it this way, to enter into SSGK could at least give you an obvious edge over outsdie students if you do not have enough points in central allocation.

另順帶一提我識有個朋友個囡囡讀SSGK，幼稚園老師開到口話會幫佢扣SSGPS門，最終都係入唔到。

即係話其實連叩門嘅優勢都唔係出面所傳到嘅咁好，所以我直頭無報。

所以我諗如果讀SSGK只係多左個扣門機會，而這機會又似乎唔高，我地揀SSGK都冇乜著數？

But my friend's daughter who used to study in SSGK but with no sibling, mother not old girl, not the same religion, got accepted by SSGP and is now in P1 already.  it seems it is only a few of them couldn't get in, and by "few", i was told it should be no more than 5 each year (of course excluding those who want to go to other schools...)   So it seems that the chance of "knocking door" is not low at all ~

If only a few cannot enter, that means there are plenty of seats for knock door?

25 marks case is not a marginal case.  All 25 marks case would be admitted.  20 marks case is rather marginal.

If u prefer DSS school, then you must go for SKH.  Curriculum in SSG tends to be too simple.  SSGK would not be able to equip your daughter well to compete.

With the increasing birth rate, my friend said 25 marks will not be a must to enter SSGPS...

In fact the friends I know who have kids studied in SSGK entered into SSGPS eventually. I only got a friend who has a kid to enter K1 next year chosen SKH instead of SSGK and she has 25 marks to enter SSGK 3 years later. She told me that the birth rate is so high in 2009 and she thinks that maybe 3 years later only 25 marks can get in.

係幾年前當時SSGK只有k2&k3時，我大仔有兩個女同學都想由SKH轉去SSGK, 後來一個轉左一個無轉，結果升小一時轉左去SSGK個小朋友入唔到SSGPS, 而無轉個位小朋友就考到co-ed & DGS, 佢媽咪最後揀左去DGS。

Form a friend, I know that most KG students admitted to PS after the third rounds in 2011.  Altogether 4X out of 60 KG graduates was admitted to PS In different rounds. In 2010, the situation was worst. Initial two rounds allocation was not good. And only a few KG graduates were admitted at last on the discretion of the PS.
