仔仔終於學完IPA啦~真係好有用

不得不同大家分享下~不是賣廣告,只係我身為家長覺得,與其大家比錢去學拼音,不如學D專業D既"國際音標"

仔仔由細到大英文的發音都好唔正確~名符其實港式英文,無尾音無捲"利",更加唔知點解老師又話a e i o u 開頭既名詞先要用an, 但點解"hour"又要用an ......

P4果年好好彩其他家長介紹去學IPA,(因為老師係唔公開收生的,只係朋友介紹留位) 雖然係好貴一個鐘,但呢兩年幾三年眼見佢發音好大進步,涼dictation更加唔洗死溫死背,真係覺得好值得! 而家終於學晒所有課程~希望到佢中學,甚至有機會讀大學都可以有幫助啦~

其實學一般拼音已經足夠應付日常默書同睇書架啦喎, 真係仲有必要學呢個??仲要唔公開收生要熟人留位??唔好玩啦

IPA其實係好既,不過在一些專家的文章中提到,唔係咁適合太細的小朋友,最好有返小四,小五
而且出邊有專教IPA的Center,不過真的比Phonics貴是事實
但對發音的準確來說...一定比較好
而要特別留位???

可能我文筆差,大家有所誤解,所謂的'留位"係因為老師係私人教的,學生比較多,所以好FULL,基本上要有一個學生學完先可以收一個新既學生,所以要"留位",抱歉令大家誤會

我都學緊IPA, 發覺完來好多字一直讀錯音, 我個course只係上8堂就學完全套IPA, 個課程只係$1500, 每星期上一堂, 唔使好似樓主個course咁要學咁耐又貴, 開頭都考慮讀唔讀好, 但計落條數平過阿囡返英文pg好多, 自己可以讀正啲英文, 唔使教錯阿囡, 就決定讀!  上左兩堂好有用!  唔好問我邊到學, 我唔會介紹!

不過你地可以去以下BBC個網址, 有晒所有音標既發音, 真人示範有video睇, 可以睇到個嘴形, 可以自學:

我也学過ＩＰＡ，是大個才学的。　我的ＣＯＭＭＥＮＴＳ是：①一定有用、因為知道何処発錯音。　電台有個ＤＪ、英文非常了得＆流利、但発錯ＡＬＭＯＮＤ這個字音。　所以常聴不一定就準的②ＩＰＡ本身是非常ＢＯＲＩＮＧ③As Madscientist said ＩＰＡ不能ＨＥＬＰ　ＩＮ　ＳＰＥＬＬＩＮＧ。 如果硬要小朋友学就不好ＬＡ

I also learned IPA by myself during my junior secondary school years.  Yes, it's a good learning process if one is interested in English, and one will be surprised to find how badly he or she pronounces the words beforehand.  For example, I think most HK people would mispronounce the following words:

Cambridge
oven
chamber
almond
salmon
toilet
certificate
mandatory
renewal
tentative

When I self-studied IPA in F.1/F.2, I only spent the summer holiday to learn the IPA symbols by heart and then started practising them in the years to come.  In your son's case, it took 2 to 3 years and as you said the hourly course fee is not low.  I wonder if it's really worth it (however, if it boosts your son's learning attitude, that's another story).
But I don't see how IPA could help improve dictation?!

and also the commonly encountered past tenses ending:
-ded
-ted
-ked
-ped
-sed
-bed
-med
-ned
etc

Perhaps the first two are easier but not the others.

IPA冇可能幫到默書， 只可改善發音

其實要對自己有要求，學ipa至有用，好多人讀得求祈，俾你學完個tool又吾自己改善，有咩用?例如好多人，please同priest, tie同tire, it同eat, ship同sheep, 根本吾會理自己讀成點，發到音就算，俾佢識曬IPA又如何？

A stupid question, does this mean phonetic?  My kid is also attending phonetic course.  It's really useful.  I also found a lot of words I pronouce are wrong in the past.  I am also learning it...
