Thanks mickey.pug, it's American international School, so I guess it's AIS? My son is going to their reception interview only, so I guess there's no writing tests...
They use EC1 or 2 at AIS. I am not sure about EC2. If your son applys for EC1, no writing. The principal will talk with parents first about your child, background, what time to get up, what to do after that, like the whole day schedule, and what is ur expectation, etc. Later, may ask your son animal names, letters, etc.
Don't worry. I don't know their criteria, but do know some kids who don't speak English well have passed the interview. Maybe they submitted the applications very early??!!
Cay12366, the format is about the same. Very laid back and just a casual chat with the principal. She didn't even ask my son any questions. My son was drawing the whole time and sometimes, he walked around the room. The principal will occasionally asked my son "is it fun?" That's about it. The interview lasted for about 20 minutes for us. Are you having an interview with them too?
Basically just asked the daily routine of your kid and why are you picking AIS. The principal has a check list and she will ask some very basic questions of your kid, e.g., whether he/she is potty trained; whether they can use the spoon/fork/chopsticks to eat; what time do they usually get up/go to bed; what to do during the day; what are the schools that your kids are currently attending, etc. She will also ask whether you will need the school bus service; your preference on the am/pm class., etc. She will also tell you a lot about the school, e.g., the student ratio; classes, etc. So it's more like an information gathering session rather than an interview.
