聖馬太最近高調在校外貼出大Banner,聲稱自己逾六成學生band 1, 逾八成派往英中, 如果屬實, 真係好犀利! 不過有朋友囝囝讀小一, 佢話小一開始已經谷得好緊要, 每個學生一定要學一種樂器+一種運動, 自己揀唔到,就由學校揀俾你, 唔理你鍾唔鍾意, 功課亦谷得好緊要, 一年班英文默書已好HEAVY, 囝囝及自己都頂唔順, 唯有諗住小二轉校添!

另外, 聽講李兆強都好犀利, 去年居然有30幾人入到聖言. 相反在觀塘網幾出名的藍循派位就較差

原本諗住囝囝讀的st joseph都幾top, 而家越知得多越驚, 不過班主任話以往st joseph派位好難作參考,因為好多仔都入番中學部嘛!

But you never know other parents how to approach the first 3 places. This is not the same each year. A ex-school mate of my daughter who put :
1st - QE (100 seats)
2nd - Marymount (only 5 seats)
She finally got Marymount. In this case, we guess her random # is 排得好後 or huge students put QE in the 1st place. Who knows.

This is what I was confused for so many years.

That's a very interesting case. The case shows that less than 4 band 1 students had put Marymount as their 1st choice. For a school with a few seats only, properly not much people will choose them as the 1st choice. If you are dare to put it in the 1st choice, you may win.

For a school with 200 seats, there may be 500 band1 students choose it as the 1st choice. For a school with 2 seats, may be only 1 student puts it as the 1st choice.

全港英中佔1/4，但有1/3 band1 學生。理論上，這些EMI學校應全是Band1學生(除了一些有联系小學的)。但事實是，有些Band2學生真的是抽入了Band1，為甚麽呢？

去做調查，看看其他人的選法，捉心理，其實是十分白癡之做法，試問，你怎知其他幾千人的選法。最好之方法是甚麽，找一個Model出来，而這個Model，對Band1學生最有利。

我提出之Model,是令最多Band1生入讀到Band1學校。

李兆強是得上下午两間學校合在一起計數，所以每年都有30多人入到聖言。

有些Band2學生真的是抽入了Band1，為甚麽呢？

去做調查，看看其他人的選法，捉心理，其實是十分白癡之做法，試問，你怎知其他幾千人的選法。最好之方法是甚麽，找一個Model出来，而這個Model，對Band1學生最有利。

如果那位Band2學生有合學校要求的[特異功能]，那麼1st round便可出線；還有一些英文和數學頂呱呱，但給中文科成績拖低至band 2的，在1st round和叩門後補時都有機會中選。

Possible resons:
1. Admitted in the 1st round.

2. EMI schools are not evenly distributed. For those areas with more EMI schools, some band2 students can enter it.

3. Quite a number of band1 students put band1 CMI schools in the 2nd choice. Some may even put good CMI schools in the 1st choice.

4. Some CMI schools are better than those poor EMI schools.

是的，所以我說有些Band2學生真的是抽入了Band1。我這里是指"抽簽"進入。

特異功能的，就算Band3，也有可能在第一階段進入名校。

絕對同意上述觀點！
現在的學生和家長不會一窩蜂，死硬派要鑽入傳統名校和一些所謂英中。(大家都睇開左！)
