NET and native Madarin speaking teachers

How many NET do they have?  I asked this question during this briefing session but the principal did not reply directly.  

Are the Chinese teachers native Mandarin speakers?

NET: I wonder if any parents really know for sure. It's difficult to judge from the teachers' looks.

PTH teachers: so far my kid's PTH teachers sound very native to me but my husband said "may be from Canton"? Again, can't be sure.

Out of curiosity, how did Mr. Wan answer your question indirectly?

Thanks, A-Mum.  Ms Chan said many parents asked this Q and she did not know the answer.  She said many English teachers have lived abroad.

A-Mum, one more question, Pui Kiu students need to take TSA in P3 and P6?  I noted in the acceptance letter that students' grades will not be submitted to EDB, but it did not mention about TSA.  Thank you so much.

Hi HoiHoiMa, I think all schools except private ones have to go take the TSA.

Hi kinchani! you are worried about their oral Eng or written level?

I can't help you compare with individual schools but given the school's emphasis on presentations and group discussions, their oral Eng must be better than "traditional" schools which put more emphasis on written Eng.

For their written Eng, you may take a look at the school newspaper. There is one in Eng and recently we have one in Chi.

Thank you very much A-Mum. I am going to let my child to study aboard after primary school and so I want my child to get used to speak and listen well in english. I like Pui Kiu because many parents say it is good and fluent in both english and chinese. The school fee is also reasonable if my kid can speak english and chinese fluently although it is comparatively weak in academic. The new principal, if not getting sack due to the pressure of the existing parents, can surely improve the academic result. I have expectation about the new principal. That's why I will seriously consider this school.
