I prefer KCIS as the level of Chinese language is better and the class size is smaller.  Also, I found KCIS students have better discipline.  Actually, my daughter is now studying in KCIS.  Nothing bad has happened.
One more thing, the overall administrative cost of KCIS is lower than ESF.  KCIS hasn’t got a luxury office and redundant staff but ESF has.  It means the tuition fee you paid to KCIS is worthier.  Your kid would gain more resources and better quality of schooling.
Besides, ESF aims to accept non-Cantonese speaking children.  If you are a local family and the first language of your kid is Cantonese, your chance of enrollment is really low.  To a certain extent, ESF is discriminating Cantonese speaking children in the beginning.  I prefer not joining ESF if I have alternative.

I would prefer KCIS, the importance of PTH will be increasing with the strength of China. A lot of foreigners started to learn PTH as a third language. I really think let child start learning PTH early would be good for their future.

I am actually a graduate of 沙田蘇浙。The organization that governing the schools under 同鄉會 is really willing to invest on employing good NET and native PTH teachers even during the years of my study. It's really rare for secondary schools have NET in school, but we had 4 at that time. It's early 90s. The PTH are either native or they can really use PTH very fluently. So after the 7 years study in the school, I can master PTH very well. Recently, I found there are non-Chinese study in my school too.

I don't think ESF would put as much effort as KCIS in PTH education. So KCIS would be better in the sense of "international".

I applied when my daughter was 18 months old.  She joins KCIS K1 this year.  You should submit your application form as early as you can.
Teachers can speak native English.  Mandarin is taught by native Mandarin teacher.

I just submitted the form when my child was 22 months old. Does anyone know what is there interview and acceptance system? I called to school but they said that they will contact me for interview when there is vacancy. Does it mean that there is very low chance for my kid to enter K1 next year?

Nath,

go to 國際學校 forum then you can learn a lot more about it. They call interview according to priority: 1) sibling; 2) KCN students; 3)others. And they will call for "next round" as long as there are still spots left.
My kid studies at KCN so i will have interview next week (no advantage on admission). I think they are still calling the priority groups only now.

I had a strict interview at the last minute (end of August) and got acceptance on the same day.  It was a one-on-one interview.  My daughter was gently asked many questions about daily life.  The purpose was to test her English language ability.  And interviewer asked whether she has chance to speak in English daily.  Interviewer emphasized their students should be immersed in English language-rich environment for better English language development because the medium of instruction in school is English.  After that, we talked about the difference between LS and IS.

I submitted the application when she was around 11months (June 2010). But I am being called as my kid is a KCN student.
