I think the quiz may test their improvement and make decision to teach quickly or slowly. As we had many maths book even had P.2 maths, I think the maths lesson will teach as soon as a turbo later.

hi , may I just ask a few questions to the existing parents, i would like to know more about the school in advance... ,
1. how often are these dictation? and just dictating 10 words each time? when do they start dictating sentences?
2. I thought that there are no exams for P.1...so instead they have regular tests to check on their improvement?
3.  How about the foreign 4 languages, do most kids find this interesting? or a bit confused or hard to catch up? need tutoring outside of school?

I am just a P1 parent so I don't know my answer is correct or not.
1. In September, they had 1 English dictation and 2 in November. So I guess the dictation would be around twice a week in the beginning?!
They would listen to the whole sentence but write the vocab they need to study only.
In the dictation in Oct, there are 15 words. I have heard that there will be 20 next time.
So far they don't have any Chinese dictation yet.

2. there are quiz and test. (mainly Maths)

3. so far my daughter only has German lessons so I can't give any comments about the other languages courses.
Anyway, I don't think I would ask my daughter to take any extra lessons outside school for the 3rd language at this moment.

thanks for your kindest reply...yet to me, picking up and learning 4 languages in one time does sound a bit heavy...hope kids will cope well.
I know that they don't pressure the 1st grader much in order for them to better adjust... and i asked the teacher at the open day yesterday that becos they encourage the students to do their work in class so the teacher will have a better understanding of their progress and level ..i also believe that most of the time, knowing and understanding is better & more important than heavy loads of homeworking doing... !!  Thanks again for your reply
