Hi,

My son is studying at KCIS now.. wondering if anyone has the university placement record of KCIS?  Have their graduates been able to get into top US universities?  Thank you.

I am just wondering whether these graduates studied all the way from P1. My gut feeling is that they joined KCIS in secondary schools, probably in Year 9-10 (I am not sure). When will KCIS have the first batch of students who studied all the way through from P1?

A small number of graduates (11 in 2010 and 17 in 2011) can mean limited choices of subjects offered by the school to its DP students.  Consequently, it will also affect the choice of degree courses that can be selected by the graduates of KCIS.

When I attended the orientation sesssion last week, the school principal said one of their students would go to Berkeley this yr..

From School Newsletter (Year 2011 result):

"We also have news of both our I.B. Diploma and IGCSE results.
We are pleased to announce that all our last year’s Y13 students were awarded their Diploma, and of these, 75% were awarded the prestigious Bi-lingual Diploma.
All our students are going on to higher university education, individuals have won places at Berkeley, California, and Hong Kong University, to name just two!
We are very proud of all our Year 13 students and wish them all well.
Our IGCSE results were also very good, and improved on last year’s results – 100% passes in all examinations taken, and 88.8% achieved an A*-C grade, much higher than the 73% world wide average.
Again we are proud of our students who achieved such good results, particularly we must mention Gigi Hui who scored 10 A* and A grades in all her GCSE examinations!
Congratulations to her!"

Thank u very much for your information.  The academic result of KCIS is awesome !   My son is going to attend its KG class.  I really like this school.  As i see it, the students are generally well-mannered and disciplined.  Most importantly, it is a through-train school and I am a LAZY parent.

Are u also a KCIS parent ?

According to my understanding, the 100% successful rate has excluded the IB Certificate student among the 17 graduates in 2011.  Otherwise, the statistics should be 16 out of 17 instead.

Hi , my other question is how good is the discipline of KCIS secondary students?  I know that their students will not bump into local students at school... but in practice, does that work?

小朋友潛能各有不同，IBD並不容易應付，亦非每個小朋友均合適。

KCIS 與其他 IS 一樣，Year 9 開始不少學生會轉至海外升學。

我相信小朋友由小到大都在IS讀書就不是一個問題, 如果英文好,好多問題都解決到, 如果由中途LS 去 IS, 一定非常辛苦..., 一來英文對於LS一定不及IS的學生, 他們要惡補英文之餘仲要趕上其他科目...很吃力及未必成績好好,所以由小K1開始就要決定他們是走什麼路...半途轉折...很辛苦...相對由IS去LS, 小朋友的中文也會追不上...各有所難架!

     Thanks for your useful reply. My son was born on 2006 , so he will goto Primary 1 next coming year. As some my friends recommend KCIS , so I want more information about this school.

As size of student body grows every year, I am just wondering whether the school campus has enough space to accomodate the increases. My son in Ching Wah Campus which is already very full.
